Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra redefines power, durability, and AI productivityAdd DeviceSpecifications as a preferred source on GoogleSamsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra - a next‑generation foldable designed to push the boundaries of performance, durability and intelligent multitasking. As the direct evolution of the classic Galaxy Z Fold line, the Fold8 Ultra arrives with a slimmer profile, stronger materials, upgraded cameras and deeper Galaxy AI integration, positioning it as the most advanced book‑style foldable Samsung has ever produced.

The Fold8 Ultra immediately stands out with its refined design. When unfolded, the device measures just 4.1 mm, making it one of the thinnest large foldables on the market. Its weight of 215 grams maintains a balanced feel, while the reinforced Armor Aluminum frame, Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 on the front and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the back deliver flagship‑grade protection. Samsung has also strengthened the internal display with dual titanium layers, improving impact absorption and long‑term durability. The redesigned Armor FlexHinge is narrower and smoother, reducing friction and making the opening motion feel more natural.

The display experience is central to the Fold8 Ultra's identity. A 6.5‑inch external screen expands into a spacious 8‑inch main display, giving users a tablet‑like canvas for reading, productivity and immersive entertainment. App continuity has been refined so transitions between the outer and inner screens feel instantaneous, preserving layout and workflow. Multi‑window mode remains a defining feature, allowing users to run multiple full apps side‑by‑side without switching screens - a major advantage for professionals and power users.

Samsung's camera upgrades mark one of the biggest generational leaps in the Fold series. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra introduces a 200MP wide camera with 2x optical‑quality zoom, delivering ultra‑high‑resolution images with improved detail and clarity. The 50‑megapixel ultra‑wide camera now features an f/1.9 aperture, increasing brightness by 34% for better low‑light landscapes and group shots. A 10MP telephoto lens provides 3x optical zoom, while both the wide and ultra‑wide cameras support 8K video recording. AI‑enhanced image signal processing improves skin tones, textures and overall realism in selfies captured from both the main and cover displays.

Nightography performance sees a dramatic improvement. The combination of brighter lenses and Samsung's ProVisual Engine enables cleaner, more stable nighttime video. Noise reduction, motion stabilization and color refinement are applied automatically, allowing users to shoot high‑quality night clips without manual adjustments.

Performance is driven by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, a customized chipset with upgraded CPU, GPU and NPU capabilities. Samsung highlights a 21% improvement in NPU efficiency, enabling faster on‑device AI processing for features like Photo Assist and Now Nudge. Real‑time ray tracing is supported, bringing more realistic lighting and shadows to mobile gaming. Storage options include 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB, with the top configuration paired with 16 GB RAM.

Battery life is another area of refinement. The Fold8 Ultra carries a 5000 mAh battery, capable of delivering up to 27 hours of video playback on the main screen. Efficiency improvements across hardware and software help extend usage time during streaming, gaming and multitasking.

Galaxy AI plays a major role in the Fold8 Ultra experience. Photo Assist allows users to edit images using natural language prompts, move or remove objects, fill backgrounds and compare original and edited versions side‑by‑side. My FanCam automatically centers video around a selected subject and offers multiple aspect ratios for quick social‑ready clips. Now Nudge provides contextual suggestions based on what appears on screen - such as opening the calendar when planning an event - and can launch actions directly into split‑screen mode.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is priced at EUR 2199 / GBP 1899 / USD 2100 for the 12GB+256GB version, EUR 2399 / GBP 2300 / USD 2300 for the 12GB+512GB variant, and GBP 2409 for the 16GB+1TB version.
