Meizu 18s and Meizu 18s Pro are official, the only update is the chipsetMeizu has unveiled the updated Meizu 18s and Meizu 18s Pro. Actually, the only major update is the chipset - the Snapdragon 888 is changed with the Snapdragon 888 Plus. All the rest seems to be the same. Both models are also priced cheaper at launch compared to their predecessors.

Meizu 18s Pro - specifications and prices

The Meizu 18s Pro is built around a 6.7-inch E4 Super AMOLED display with a 2K+ resolution (1440 x 3200 pixels). The quad-curved screen is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 6 and uses on-cell technology. It offers 120Hz refresh rate, 420 nits of typical brightness, 800 nits of maximum brightness, and 1300 nits of peak brightness. The display supports HDR10+. The rear shell of the smartphone employs an octogram micro-arc design with AG-etched glass. The front and rear are bonded by a metal frame. The 8.1 mm thin body houses a 4500 mAh battery that supports 40W fast charging. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus chipset is responsible for the performance and is aided by a vapor chamber cooling system. You can choose from 8GB of 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The Meizu 18s Pro is equipped with a 44MP Samsung GH1 front camera with 0.7 μm pixel size, f/2.4 aperture, and a 5-element lens. On the back, there's a quad-camera module headed by a 50MP Samsung ISOCELL GN1 sensor with 1.2 μm pixel size, f/1.9 aperture, a 7-element lens, 23 mm focal length equivalent, and Shape Memory Alloy optical image stabilization. The camera can shoot 8K videos. It is adjoined by an 8MP OmniVision OV08A10 telephoto unit with OIS, a 32MP Sony IMX616 ultra-wide unit with a 130° FoV, and a 2 cm macro shooting distance. The fourth unit is a 3D TOF camera with a Samsung 33D sensor. The audio system features dual 1216 hyper linear speakers in their fourth generation, a 1012 receiver, and a Smart PA. The device arrives with the latest Ultrasonic mTouch (fingerprint sensor) and mEngine 4.0 that includes a linear vibration motor, bionic mechanical shock, and 4D haptic feedback. The device supports dual-mode 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC.

The Meizu 18s has a smaller display and footprint. Actually, this device impresses with its compactness despite the fact that it packs a 6.2-inch screen and a 4000 mAh battery with 36W fast charging. The display uses an E4 sAMOLED panel with 2K+ resolution (1440 x 3200 pixels), HDR10+ support, on-cell technology, and 1300 nits of peak brightness, 120Hz refresh rate. This smartphone has the same Snapdragon 888 chipset, RAM and storage capacities. It also boasts the same connectivity options and speakers. The camera department significantly varies.

The Meizu 18s is equipped with a 20MP Samsung S3T2 selfie snapper and trio of rear shooters. The main camera is fitted with a 64MP Sony IMX682 sensor, 7-element lens with an f/1.6 aperture. The second camera is a 16MP Samsung S5K3P9SX ultra-wide unit with a 122° FoV and a 5-element lens. The third unit is an 8MP telephoto one with an OmniVision OV08A10 sensor, OIS, 3x optical zoom.
