Belated: Vivo X300 E is launched in China with Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip

This is the 8th model from the X300 series, which is available globally in different versions. The China-bound X300 E is almost a double of the Vivo S60. The main difference lies in the chipset. The Snapdraon 8s Gen 3 from the S60 was replaced with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 on the X300 E. Another difference is the resolution of the ultra-wide camera. On the S60, this is a 50MP unit, while on the X300 E, this is downgraded to an 8MP unit. A difference in the colorways and a minor difference in weight and thickness round off the differences between the two models.
As already mentioned, the Vivo X300 E is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 mobile platform, fabricated on a 3 nm process and configured with an 8‑core CPU running at 3.80 GHz on two performance cores and 3.32 GHz on six efficiency cores. Graphics are handled by the Adreno 829, positioning the X300 E for high‑frame‑rate gaming and demanding multimedia workloads. The phone ships with 12 GB of LPDDR5X Quad RAM and either 256 GB or 512 GB of UFS 4.1 storage, with vivo’s memory fusion technology enabling additional virtual RAM expansion.
The X300 E uses a single‑cell 7200 mAh lithium‑ion battery, rated at 26.93 Wh typical energy. Charging reaches 90 W, with dynamic power adjustment depending on temperature and safety conditions. OTG reverse charging is supported, and vivo’s direct‑drive power mode helps reduce heat during heavy use. OriginOS 6, based on Android 16, manages the software experience and introduces Vivo's latest visual, performance, and eye‑comfort optimizations.
On the front, the device features a 6.59‑inch AMOLED display with a 1260 x 2750 px resolution. It supports 1.07 billion colors, HDR, a contrast ratio of 800,000:1, and a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz. Vivo's eye‑protection suite includes intelligent brightness and color‑temperature adjustments, low‑blue‑light certifications, and high‑frequency PWM dimming.
The camera department continues Vivo's partnership with ZEISS. The rear system consists of a 50MP ZEISS super‑sensitive main camera, a 50MP ZEISS telephoto unit, and an 8MP ultra‑wide lens. Apertures range from f/1.88 on the main sensor to f/2.65 on the telephoto and f/2.2 on the ultra‑wide. The main and telephoto cameras support OIS, while both front and rear cameras offer video stabilization. The front camera is a 50MP f/2.0 unit capable of 1080p video and equipped with portrait and creative shooting modes.
Audio comes through dual speakers. The Vivo X300 E includes 3D ultrasonic fingerprint recognition, facial recognition, and full‑function NFC. Connectivity covers Wi‑Fi 6 and Wi‑Fi 7, 2×2 MIMO, MU‑MIMO, Wi‑Fi Display, Bluetooth 5.4, and a broad suite of Bluetooth audio codecs including aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, LDAC, and LDHC 5.0.
