Blackview launches the Oscal Pilot 8 series with a satellite and a thermal imaging version

Add DeviceSpecifications as a preferred source on GoogleBlackview has launched the Oscal Pilot 8 series - a trio of rugged smartphones powered by the Qualcomm Dragonwing Q-6690 (QCS6690) chipset. This is the world's first enterprise mobile processor with a fully integrated UHF (RAIN) RFID reader - engineered for future-ready enterprise and industrial devices. It features a 2.9 GHz CPU and a 1.15GHz GPU that offer up to 15% higher CPU performance and up to 30% stronger GPU compared to MediaTek Helio G100‑based rugged devices.
Each of the three Pilot 8 rugged smartphones features a 6.83‑inch AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, 600 nits of typical brightness, and 2000 nits of peak brightness. The screen is protected by CSG KK9 Glass. The rear shell is transparent, also featuring reinforced glass and polycarbonate, while the frame is made of aluminum alloy with shockproof TPU-padded corners. All versions share a robust industrial design certified to IP68/IP69K and MIL‑STD‑810H, ensuring resistance to water, dust, pressure washing, shocks, and extreme temperatures. Powering the devices is a massive 10,000 mAh battery that delivers up to 28 days of standby time and supports 55 W fast charging.
It is the camera and connectivity department that forms the identity of each of the Pilot 8 models. The standard Oscal Pilot 8 features a 108 MP Samsung ISOCELL HM6 main shooter with a 6-element lens and an f/1.9 aperture. It is adjoined by a 20MP Sony IMX350 Night Vision unit, while a 50MP Samsung S5KJN1 sensor with a 5-element lens is responsible for selfies.
The Oscal Pilot 8 Thermal replaces the Night Vision camera with a heat‑mapping sensor designed for inspections, construction work, and outdoor operations. The sensor has a resolution of 160 x 120 px with < 50mK thermal sensitivity, 25Hz frame rate, and temperature sensitivity from 15°C to 550°C.
The Oscal Pilot 8 Satellite has the same camera department as the vanilla model but throws in global satellite communication support for off‑grid connectivity, allowing users to send messages in areas without cellular coverage - an essential feature for remote expeditions and emergency scenarios.
The rest of the connectivity options are identical for all three models - global dual-SIM 5G with eSIM support, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and NFC. The devices offer configurations up to 12 GB RAM, expandable virtually to 48 GB, and up to 256 GB of storage, expandable with up to 2TB via a microSD card. Each has a rear-mounted 4.5W Smart PA speaker with 98 dB loudness.
