The display is one of the Astra 2's headline features. The tablet introduces a next‑generation 2.4K OLED panel with an industry‑leading 185Hz refresh rate - the highest ever offered on a tablet. REDMAGIC notes that the screen integrates a Synaptics S3930 touch system, delivering up to 2000Hz instant touch sampling for ultra‑precise input. With a 90.1% screen‑to‑body ratio and slim 4.9 mm bezels, the Astra 2 aims to deliver an immersive, distraction‑free gaming experience.
Thermal management receives a major leap with the AquaCore Cooling System 2.0 - the industry's first liquid‑cooled tablet. It employs a complex architecture of liquid flow channels, ceramic micropumps, fluorinated coolant, and an upgraded VC vapor chamber featuring an industry‑first 4D structure. The system is designed to maintain stable performance across extreme temperatures ranging from -40°C to 70°C, ensuring reduced throttling and improved long‑session stability.
Battery endurance is supported by an 8300 mAh dual‑cell battery with up to 75W fast charging. The tablet can fully charge in as fast as 60 minutes and features dual USB‑C ports - one supporting 75W charging and the other 40W - enabling flexible charging orientations and two‑way reverse charging. REDMAGIC highlights that the side USB‑C port also supports audio output, allowing users to separate charging and audio connections during gameplay.
Design-wise, the Astra 2 continues REDMAGIC's signature transparent aesthetic. The tablet features a metal frame, transparent glass-accented rear, visible liquid cooling structure, RGB lighting, and IP54-rated resistance. Immersion is further enhanced by DTS Ultra-certified dual stereo speakers, dual X-axis linear motors for 4D haptics, and the multifunctional Magic Key for quick access to GameSpace.
Running REDMAGIC OS 11.5 based on Android 16, the Astra 2 supports both gaming and productivity. It includes a 13MP rear camera, a 9MP front camera, upgraded Bluetooth 6.0, USB Type-C 3.2 DisplayPort output up to 8K@60fps, and a full suite of sensors. Fingerprint and facial recognition are optimized for reliability even with wet hands or low-light conditions.
REDMAGIC has also confirmed global pricing and availability. The Astra 2 will be sold in Black Eclipse and Silver Starfrost variants, with configurations of 12GB+256GB and 16GB+512GB. Pricing starts at $749 USD for the 12GB+256GB model and $849 USD for the 16GB+512GB model in North America, with regional pricing provided for Europe, the UK, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and Latin America.
The global launch is scheduled for today, followed by Early Bird Vouchers in mid‑August and Early Bird Access in late August. Early Bird customers will receive an 80W Fast Charger and an exclusive REDMAGIC keychain. REDMAGIC is also introducing a "Try Before You Switch" program, allowing selected users to test the Astra 2 and share feedback with the community.
