HTC U23 joins its Pro sibling with a downgraded camera department

HTC U23 has also been announced today, joining the HTC U23 Pro. Both smartphones are largely the same. In terms of dimensions and design, the two devices are identical. However, the vanilla model offers a purple and a blue color variant instead of the brown and white colors available on the Pro version. Both smartphones have a 6.7-inch OLED display with an FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and has a top-centrally placed punch hole for the 32MP selfie camera with an f/2.45 aperture. Each of the models also has a 4600 mAh battery with 30W fast charging, 15W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging. They run on Android 13 and arrive with 5G, Wi-Fi 6, and NFC support, a USB TYpe-C port, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The 5G connectivity is ensured by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset that powers both devices. However, on the vanilla version it is paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The Pro version has a 12GB variant with 256GB storage. Finally, the main difference. HTC U23 Pro has a 108MP main camera with OIS, while the HTC U23 has a 64MP main camera without OIS and with an f/1.89 aperture.
