China will commercially deploy 5G in 40 major cities starting in October 1stThe three major Chinese telecoms - China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom, will commercially deploy 5G in 40 major cities of October 1st later this year. The base stations will be provided by Huawei, ZTE, and Ericsson. Each of the telecoms will deploy from 30,000 to 50,000 base stations. This information comes from China Daily, which sites Michael Gao Wenhao, deputy general manager of ZTE's 5G industrial product line, who appeared at the Hong Kong 5G Forum of the Hong Kong Productivity Council headquarters. Gao told China Daily that he got the information from three major telecommunications operators in China.Source
