Huawei Pura X Max is built for immersion, creativity, and AI-driven experience.Add DeviceSpecifications as a preferred source on GoogleThe Huawei Pura X Max has just been launched in China, positioned as a premium foldable smartphone that blends a dual‑screen design with the company's latest XMAGE imaging system and a large 5300 mAh battery. The device introduces a refined hardware package built around flexibility, durability, and high‑end photography.

The Pura X Max features a compact 5.4‑inch OLED outer display and a 7.7‑inch flexible OLED inner display, both supporting 10-bit color bit depth, 100% DCI-P3 wide color gamut, and 1–120 Hz LTPO 2.0 adaptive refresh rates. The outer screen reaches a 300Hz touch sampling rate, while the inner panel supports up to 240 Hz. Huawei equips the outer display with second‑generation Kunlun Glass and the inner panel with UTG for added resilience.

Huawei highlights the device's ability to shift seamlessly between compact one‑handed use and a large, tablet‑like canvas for video, gaming, reading, and multitasking. The wide inner screen is optimized for horizontal video playback, professional document previews, and creative workflows, while the outer display remains fully functional for everyday tasks.

A major focus of the Pura X Max is creative expression. The phone supports the HUAWEI M‑Pen 3 Mini stylus, enabling sketching, note‑taking, AI‑assisted image generation, and professional‑grade previews of formats such as PSD, AI, Sketch, and DWG. Huawei’s AI‑powered "Little Art Companion" offers intelligent suggestions, topic recommendations, and automated task reminders, integrating into daily routines without being intrusive.

Photography is a central focus. A 50MP ultra‑lighting main camera anchors the rear system with a ten‑stop variable aperture (F1.4–F4.0), RYYB sensor, and OIS. It is joined by a 12.5 MP ultra‑wide camera and a 50 MP periscope telephoto module with OIS, offering 3.5x× optical zoom, 7x optical‑quality zoom, and up to 100× digital zoom. Huawei's second‑generation XMAGE color engine powers modes such as Super Night, Ultra HDR, long‑range telephoto, astrophotography, and RAW shooting. The phone supports 4K video recording on both rear and front cameras.

The front‑facing cameras include an 8MP sensor on the outer display and another 8MP unit on the inner display, both supporting 4K video and a full suite of AI‑enhanced shooting modes. Inside, the Pura X Max runs HarmonyOS 6.1 and comes in configurations starting at 12GB RAM with 256GB or 512GB of storage. A Collector's Edition variant offers 16GB RAM paired with 512GB or 1TB of storage. The device does not support storage expansion.

Powered by the Kirin 9030 Pro chipset, the Huawei Pura X Max promises a 30% performance boost over the previous generation, according to Huawei's internal testing. The phone supports a large VC cooling system for sustained gaming performance. Powering the system is a 5300 mAh battery (5150 mAh rated capacity) with 66W wired SuperCharge support, 50W wireless SuperCharge, and wireless reverse charging.

Durability is another key pillar. The inner screen uses a multi‑layer composite structure for improved toughness, while the outer display is protected by second‑generation Kunlun Glass. The hinge incorporates hardened materials and a reinforced water‑drop design to enhance reliability. The device carries IP58 and IP59 ratings under controlled laboratory conditions, offering resistance to dust, splashes, and high‑pressure water jets.

Connectivity includes dual‑band Wi‑Fi (up to Wi‑Fi 7 capabilities), Bluetooth 6.0 with LDAC and L2HC audio, NFC for payments and card emulation, USB‑C with USB 3.1 Gen 1 support (with compatible cable), and multi‑band GNSS positioning. The standard Pura X Max does not support satellite messaging, while the Collector's Edition supports Beidou satellite communication features.
