The first batch of Huawei Mate 20 X 5G units sold out in several minutesOn the first day of sales, the first batch of Huawei Mate 20 X 5G units have sold out in several minutes. The handset has received more than a million registrations of interest. It is priced at CNY 6199 which translates to USD 901 and is based on the 7nm Kirin 980 chipset with Huawei's own Balong 5000 5G modem - the first 5G modem to achieve industry's benchmark 5G peak download rate by achieving 4.6 Gbps in the sub-6GHz low-frequency band and China's main 5G frequency band along with 6.5 Gbps in the millimetre wave which is the highest frequency band and 5G extended band. That's 10 times higher speeds than 4G LTE ones. Balong 5000 is also the first mobile modem in the world to support SA (5G independent networking) and NSA (5G non-independent networking, that is, 5G network architecture on LTE) networking mode, which can flexibly respond to users and operators of hardware devices in different stages of 5G industry development. The smartphone has a dual-SIM card tray - the first card supports 5G, while the second - 4G LTE.

Mate 20 X 5G is available only in Emerald Green colour and features a 7.2-inch OLED display with an FHD+ resolution, blue light protection for the eyes and support for DCI-P3 color gamut and DC dimming. The waterdrop notch houses a 24MP selfie snapper with an f/2.0 lens. The glass back houses three shooters and a LED flash placed in a squarish module with round corners. There are a fingerprint sensor and a 5G logo imprinted on the rear shell as well. The camera module contains a 48MP main camera with an f/1.8 lens and PDAF, an 8MP telephoto unit with an f/2.4 lens and OIS, and a 20MP ultrawide camera with an f/2.2 lens and PDAF. The model supports Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5, GPS, NFC and has a USB Type-C port plus a 3.5mm jack. There are 8GB of RAM and 256GB of built-in storage. The latter can be expanded by further 256GB. Power is supplied by a 4200 mAh battery with a 40W fast charger. The device runs on EMUI 9.1 based on Android 9 Pie.Source
