Realme has officially launched its GT8 and GT8 Pro smartphones in China, and they’re packed with features aimed at power users and mobile gamers. Both models sport a massive 6.79-inch 2K OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and ultra-responsive touch sampling, making them ideal for fast-paced gaming and smooth scrolling. The screen also boasts up to 7000 nits of peak brightness, ensuring visibility even under direct sunlight.
Under the hood, the GT8 Pro is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. The vanilla GT8 is based on the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. Realme has equipped the phones with its largest vapor chamber cooling system to date, covering 30% more area than previous models to keep performance stable during intense use. A dedicated R1 graphics chip enhances frame rates and resolution across more than 100 games, while the GT Performance Engine supports native 2K resolution at 120FPS and 144Hz gameplay in popular shooters.
Audio and haptics are also a focus, with symmetrical stereo speakers, bass enhancement, and a wideband pulse motor for immersive 4D vibration feedback. The GT8 Pro introduces a unique modular design with interchangeable camera deco styles, including a robot-inspired layout and a transparent Rubik’s Cube aesthetic. Color options include classic white with frosted glass, deep blue and fresh green, both finished in eco-friendly recycled leather.
Realme has partnered with Ricoh Imaging to co-engineer the GT8 Series' camera system, drawing inspiration from Ricoh's GR series. The GT8 Pro features a 200MP periscope telephoto lens with ultra-clear zoom capabilities, 8K photo support, and up to 6x lossless zoom. It also includes Ricoh’s signature shooting modes like Snap Mode and Viewfinder Mode, along with five GR-inspired color tones and a customizable tone editor. The GT8 Pro also offers 28mm and 40mm full-frame equivalent focal lengths for street and portrait photography.
Both phones include a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization. The GT8 adds a 50MP 3.5x periscope telephoto lens and an 8MP ultra-wide shooter, while the Pro model upgrades to a 50MP ultra-wide and a 32MP front-facing camera. Battery life is another highlight, with a 7000mAh second-gen Titan battery. The GT8 supports 100W fast charging, while the GT8 Pro bumps that up to 120W wired and 50W wireless charging, reaching 50% in just 15 minutes.
Connectivity is robust, with support for 21 global 5G bands, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and advanced location services. Both models run Android 16 with Realme UI 7.0 and carry IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
Pricing starts at around $407 for the base GT8 model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, while the top-tier GT8 Pro with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage comes in at approximately $730. Realme has confirmed plans to launch the GT8 series globally, so US availability details should follow soon.
