nubia Z80 Ultra - a major camera upgrade and flagman specs

ZTE has officially unveiled the Nubia Z80 Ultra, its latest photography-focused flagship and successor to last year's Z70 Ultra. While the core specs remain premium, the real story is in the camera overhaul.
The rear setup still features three lenses - 50MP main, 50MP ultrawide, and 64MP telephoto - but sensor sizes have been significantly upgraded. The main 50MP camera retains its 35mm focal length but now uses a larger Light Hunter 990 sensor (1/1.3") for better low-light performance. The ultrawide lens jumps from a modest 1/2.88" sensor to a much larger 1/1.55", making it more capable in varied lighting. The 64MP telephoto lens includes optical stabilization but sticks with a smaller 1/2" sensor.The under-display 16MP front camera returns, keeping the screen notch-free. Speaking of the display, it's unchanged: a 6.85" AMOLED panel with 1216×2688 resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, and 2000-nit peak brightness.
Performance gets a boost with the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. Battery capacity increases from 6150mAh to 7200mAh, with 90W wired and 80W wireless charging. Other features include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, Wi-Fi 7, NFC, and IP69-rated water and dust resistance.
Pricing in China starts at ¥4999 (~$698) for the 12GB RAM + 512GB storage model, with higher-tier versions offering up to 1TB of storage. Limited editions like "Starry Night" and "Luo Tianyi" come with slight premiums.
The Z80 Ultra blends serious imaging upgrades with flagship performance, aiming squarely at mobile photography enthusiasts.
