Oppo Find X8 Ultra goes official with a Sony LYT-900 main shooter and two periscope telephoto units

This device is developed around the idea to provide an unmatched photographic experience and sports an impressive set of cameras. The main rear shooter uses a 1" Sony LYT-900 sensor paired with an f/1.8 lens and a 23 mm focal length equivalent. The same setup was used by last year's Finx X7 Ultra. The main improvement is about the two periscope telephoto cameras. The one with the 70 mm focal length equivalent uses a Sony LYT-700 sensor and an f/2.1 lens supporting 3x optical zoom. The one with the 125 mm focal length equivalent employs a Sony LYT-600 sensor with an f/3.1 lens and 6x optical zoom. The fourth rear camera is an ultra-wide unit with a Samsung S5KJN5 sensor, a 15 mm focal length equivalent, and an f/2.0 lens. Oppo introduces the True Chroma camera. Its main feature is to analyze the color temperature of the scene and to process the photo together with the Hasselblad software for a true-to-life result. Further picture processing tools include the next-generation Oppo HyperTone Image Engine, AI tone mapping, and ProXDR engine. Video recording has also been improved and now includes Dolby Vision.
Oppo Find X8 Ultra is adorned with a 6.82-inch OLED display with an LTPO backplane and a dynamic, 1-120Hz refresh rate. The screen has a QHD+ resolution of 1440 x 3169 px and delivers a peak brightness of 1600 nits. It graces an 8.78-thick body with IP68 and IP69 rating for resistance to water, dust, dirt, hot water spraying, etc. The reinforced body with an aluminum midframe and a tough crystal shield glass is rated with five stars by SGS for drop resistance. Additional physical treats include a customizable shortcut button and a quick button that serves as a camera shutter. A 6100 mAh battery keeps the lights on with 100W wires and 50W wireless charging support. It can also do 10W reverse wireless charging as well. The processing power of the device is based on the Snapdragon 8 Elite mobile platform paired with 12GB/16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB/512GB/1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. The smartphone runs on ColorOS 15 based on Android 15. The available colors include Matte Black, Pure White, and Shell Pink. The price of the model in China starts at CNY 6499.
