Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is official with a 5.7-inch curved OLED displayAt a special event today Xiaomi presented the Mi Note 2. This is a flagship smartphone with a two-sided curved display - curved 3D glass on the front and back. It is available in Piano Black and Glacier Silver. For creating the display of the model, Xiaomi has opted for an ultra-thin OLED curved panel in order to avoid several technology limitation of the LCD displays. For starters, OLED can be curved to a greater extend and secondly, it allows them to avoid very thick bezels. The display has a 5.7-inch diagonal size, offering more than 77% screen-to-body ratio. The contrast ratio is 100000:1 and the NTSC color space coverage can reach 110%. The display employs Sunlight Display Pro technology and has a reading mode. Xiaomi Mi Note 2 sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset with an octa-core CPU clocked at 2.35GHz. It is coupled with 4/6GB of LPDDR4 RAM clocked at 1866Mhz and 64/128GB of UFS 2.0 internal memory. Power is supplied by a 4070 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0. The smartphone supports SAP GPS (with an auxiliary positioning sensor) and fully-featured NFC, which can be used as a bank card and as a ticket in the bus, for example. The audio department is advanced as well, including Hi-Fi audio output (192kHz/24bit) and an AQSTIC high-quality audio processor. The primary camera has a 22.56MP Sony IMX318 sensor with PDAF and a 6-element lens with an f/2.0 aperture. It is aided by 4K video EIS due to a dedicated 3-axis gyroscope inside the camera. The front-facing camera is equipped with an 8MP Sony IMX268 sensor with autofocus and an f/2.0 aperture. The smartphone supports almost all worldwide network bands - more than 37 bands to be exact, including 4G+ Cat. 6 ones. There are three prices for the Mi Note 2: CNY 2799 (USD 413) for the 4/64GB version, CNY 3299 (USD 487) for the 6/128GB version, and the global edition with 6/128GB costs CNY 3499 (USD 516). Along with the latest flagship smartphone, Xiaomi also presents the Mi VR headset with a 9-axis motion controller.
