AT&T will explore a possible deal with Vodafone next year
2 November 2013, 05:41:30
This is a second attempt for AT&T in its aspirations towards Vodafone. The first was from earlier this year when it negotiated with Verizon to buy Vodafone's European operations. Verizon would take back the 45% of Verizon Wireless owned by Vodafone. The rest would go to America Movil SAB. This, however, did not happen.
If current plans are realized, the new entity will be the world's largest mobile operator by sales. It will have a market capitalization exceeding $250 billion and roughly 500 million subscribers. Whatever actions AT&T plans to take, it has to wait for the closing of the deal between Vodafone and Verizon about the 45% wireless business, which will happen in early 2014.Source
