Ulefone has finally released the full specifications of the Ulefone Armor 28 Ultra Thermal and Ulefone Armor 28 Ultra which appeared for the first time in September last year. The pair is slated for a March 17th launch. The only difference between the two models is the ThermoVue thermal camera in the Thermal Version. It uses an all-new next-gen AI-powered thermal imaging suite of technologies such as the SharpenAI algorithm, FusionAI technology, and an independent infrared ISP. AI thermal imaging is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chip's NPU that fuels the Armor 28 Ultra series. The independent infrared ISP delivers 50% faster output and improved response, independent color and contrast adjustments. The ThermoVue T2 chip is powered nu the SharpenAI algorithm which enables you to achieve a more accurate and sharper interpolated resolution of 640 x 512 px. Accuracy and clarity are further enhanced by the FusionAI technology which builds upon the dual-spectrum fusion technology used in previous-generation Ulefone thermal camera smartphones.
The Ulefone Armor 28 Ultra Thermal and Ulefone Armor 28 Ultra are based on the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chipset. It integrated Cortex-X4 super CPU cores clocked up to 3.4 GHz, a 12-core Immortalis-G720 GPU, and a 2nd-generation ray tracing engine. The devices have 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The RAM can be virtually expanded and there's a dedicated slot for a memory card to expand the storage. A 15314 sq.mm. graphene cooling system aids the chipset. A major part of the Dimensity 9300+ is its next-generation APU architecture with a hardware-based generative AI engine providing a faster experience with Meta, Google Gemini, and various AI features in photo editing. Speaking of photography, with the ThermoVue camera put aside, both Armor 28 Ultra models share one and the same camera setup. A 50MP Sony IMX989 sensor is used for the main rear camera, adjoined by a 50MP Samsung ISOCELL JN1 ultra-wide and macro lens, and a 64MP OmniVision OV64B1B Night Vision unit with four IR lights. The front features a 50MP Samsung S5KJN1 selfie camera.
The Ulefone Armor 28 Ultra Thermal and Ulefone Armor 28 Ultra are built around a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It delivers 900 nits of brightness in high-brightness mode and a peak brightness of 2200 nits. The 10-bit display also covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color space. There's a 1.04" AMOLED rear display as well that's touch-sensitive. Power is supplied by a 10600 mAh battery with 120W fast charging and 50W wireless charging support. Moreover, the Armor 28 Ultra smartphones are equipped with a uSmart 2.0 connector, a USB Type-C 3.2 Gen port with DP Alt Mode, a headphone jack, and an IR blaster. They both arrive siwth Android 15 out of the box and support NFC, Bluetooth 5.4, and Wi-Fi 7.
