The smartphone has a flat design with rounded edges and colorways including fresh options such as Iris and Peony along with the more classic Porcelain and Obsidian. Moreover, the device is IP68-rated for being resistant to water and dust. It also comes with seven years of OS updates, security updates, and Pixel Drops. The front of the smartphone is adorned with a 6.3-inch Actua display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and an FHD+ resolution. The screen is 35% brighter than the Pixel 8a at 2700 nits. It is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Powered by a 5100 mAh battery, offering over 30 hours of battery life and over 100 hours with Extreme Battery Saver, Pixel 9a has the best battery life of any Pixel available today. It supports 7.5W Qi wireless charging and 23W of fast charging
The Pixel 9a is based on the Google Tensor G4 mobile platform with the Titan M2 security processor. It enables various Google AI features including Gemini Nano. Gemini on Pixel 9a works with Google apps like Maps, Calendar, and YouTube so multitasking is made easy. You'll also get access to Gemini Live, which lets you use your voice to interact with Gemini. The chipset also enables various AI-powered features like Circle to Search, Pixel Studio, Call Assist features, etc.
The camera department is also highly aided by the Tensor G4 and Google AI features. You get the Add Me features, Best Take, and Magic Editor with Magic Eraser, Audio Magic Eraser, Night Sight, Astrophotography, and the new Panorama with Night Sight. The set of cameras is headed by a 48MP main unit with an f/1.7 aperture, 82° field of view, OIS, and EIS. It is adjoined by a 13MP ultra-wide camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a 120° field of view. A 13MP selfie snapper resides on the front with an f/2.2 aperture and a 96.1° field of view.
The Pixel 9a is equipped with dual stereo speakers, two microphones, a USB Type-C 3.2 port with DP Alt Mode, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. It arrives with Android 15 and supports Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and Wi-Fi 6E.
