Huawei presents the Honor Play - its first smartphone with GPU Turbo technologyHuawei has just finished presenting the Honor Play as promised. The newest feature here is the GPU Turbo technology. It can provide up to 60% increase in performance, up to 30% reduction in power consumption, allows games to run in full-frame, improves single-thread performance, and allows mid-range devices to perform like flagship ones. It also supports HDR for games. This technology will trickle down even to low-end smartphones. It is also combined with AI to offer a more immersive 4D gameplay. In addition, the display has a special nano-scale microstructure coating for improved touch experience while playing games.

The Honor Play is built around a 6.3-inch FHD+ display with a notch that can be hidden. The screen takes up 89% of the total front surface of the device. The design of the back has been improved to provide even better handling experience. The colour options include blue, black and pink. The model brings 3D game sound effects, 7.1-channel Histen sound effects and "auditory bit" experience. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.2. There are two rear cameras aided by AI for object recognition, portraits and gallery management. The main one is equipped with a 16MP sensor. Fun AR effects are supported as well. There are 4GB/6GB of RAM on board, 64GB of storage and power is supplied by a 3750 mAh battery. The 4GB+64GB version costs CNY 1999 (USD 312) and the 6GB+64GB variant is priced at CNY 2399 (USD 375). There's a special version of the model dubbed Honor Play Cool Edition, with red and black colour options, that packs 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, and costs CNY 2499 (USD 391).Source
