Asus launches the ROG Phone 5s series in EuropeAsus has launched the ROG Phone 5s series in Europe. The devices were announced in August earlier this year. In Europe, the ROG Phone 5s is available in the following versions and prices: The Asus ROG Phone 5s Pro is available for pre-order but it's not for sale yet. Probably it will be available at the end of the year for Christmas shopping. Below is our original news for the announcement of the two models earlier this year.

Both models retain the display of the Asus ROG Phone 5 family - a 6.78-inch AMOLED unit with an FHD+ resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, Gorilla Glass Victus, 111% DCI-P3 and 151% sRGB coverage, HDR10+ certification. They achieve a brightness of 800 nits on a full white display, meaning you get a very bright AMOLED display. The new element is the increase touch sampling rate - from 300Hz to 360 Hz, hence the touch latency drops from 24.3 ms to 24 ms. In addition, the two models feature the AirTrigger 5 ultrasonic sensors with the Pro version having two additional touch sensor on its back. It also arrives with the ROG Vision - a monochrome pAMOLED rear display. Moreover, the Pro version also packs the AeroActive Cooler 5 in its box.

The battery has not changed. Each of the devices has a dual-cell 6000 mAh unit with 65W charging. The motherboard is placed between the two battery cells for improved heating management. The smartphones have two USB-C ports as the previous version. The chipset is upgraded to Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus. The ROG Phone 5s has 8GB/12GB/16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB/256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The ROG Phone 5s Pro has 18GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The storage cannot be expanded. Anoth upgrade can be seen in the AI Engine which not functions at 32 TOPS up from 26 TOPS. The devices run on ZenUI + ROG UI based on Android 11 and support Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6E, NFC, dual-mode 5G, Dual-frequency (L1+L5) GNSS, Globass, Galileo, BeiDou, QZSS, NavIC.

The Asus ROG Phone 5s and 5s Pro retain the 3.5 mm jack and arrives with an ESS SABRE ES9280AC Pro DAC with HyperStream II QUAD DAC technology and a built-in Class G ESS Sabre Headphone amplifier, delivering a best-in-class signal-to-noise of 130 dB. Together with a patented Time Domain Jitter Eliminator it can also reach an unprecedented dynamic range of up to 122dB. Two symmetrical 7-magnet 12x16 Super Linear Speakers powered by Cirrus Logic CS35L45 mono amplifiers tuned by Dirac are on board along with four microphones with OZO Noise Reduction Technology. Asus did not change the cameras on the ROG Phone 5s and 5s Pro. On the back, there's the same 64MP Sony IMX686 main shooter with an f/1.8 aperture, the same 13MP ultra-wide camera with 125º FoV, and a 5MP macro unit. On the front, there's the same 24MP selfie snapper.
