Xiaomi announced the Mi MIX 3 5G, will cost $679Today, Xiaomi announced in Barcelona the Mi MIX 3 5G. This is not only the company's first 5G smartphone but also a quite affordable one. It is expected that the handset will cost around USD 679 / EUR 599 and will go to market in May. For the European launch, Xiaomi will partner with Orange, Sunrise, Telefonica, Three, TIM and Vodafone. No plans for US launch so far. The handset is the same as the original model in terms of specs (check out our in-depth Mi MIX 3 review). "Essentially everything you loved about the Mi Mix 3 is now coming along with 5G," Donovan Sung, director of product management for the Xiaomi global team, said at today's press conference. The Mi MIX 3 5G houses a Snapdragon 855 chipset and Qualcomm's X50 5G modem. "5G will become reality in this year and will drive future innovations in various industries such as smartphone and IOT," Wang Xiang, Xiaomi's head of international business, said during the company's press conference at MWC in Barcelona. The Mi MIX 3 5G will be showcased at the MWC next week.
