Our in-depth Cubot KingKong Dura review is now ready. This smartphone takes a different path from the usual rugged‑phone formula. Instead of the thick, brick‑like build that dominates the category, it adopts a slimmer, more streamlined shape while still delivering full protection against water, dust, drops, and harsh temperatures.
Its dual swappable‑battery system is the real standout: two 5000 mAh packs that can be hot‑swapped on the fly, giving the device far longer uptime than conventional smartphones with sealed batteries. The hardware inside is intentionally modest, prioritizing reliability and essential performance over raw power - ideal for users who need endurance and toughness rather than flagship‑level specs.
Up front, the KingKong Dura features a 6.88‑inch IPS panel with a 720 x 1640 HD+ resolution, 450‑nit peak brightness, and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. A V‑shaped notch holds the 16MP front camera with an f/2.25 aperture and a 27.1 mm equivalent focal length. On the back, the main 64MP camera (f/1.8, 31.4 mm equivalent) leads the imaging setup, supported by a 2MP macro lens. Power comes from the removable 5000 mAh battery, with a second identical unit included in the box, both supporting 20W fast charging.
Under the hood, the phone runs on the Unisoc T7280 (Tiger T620) chipset, built around an octa‑core CPU (two 2.21GHz A75 cores and six 1.82GHz A55 cores) and a Mali‑G57 GPU. RAM options include 8GB or 12GB LPDDR4X, with up to 12GB of virtual expansion. Storage is available in 128GB or 256GB configurations, expandable via microSD.
The KingKong Dura ships with Android 16 and covers all essential connectivity: Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, Wi‑Fi 5, Wi‑Fi Direct, Hotspot, and Cast Display. It also includes a hybrid dual Nano‑SIM tray, a side‑mounted fingerprint reader, a customizable key, and a USB‑C 2.0 port. Its rugged credentials are backed by IP68, IP69K, and MIL‑STD‑810H certifications, ensuring resistance to water, dust, shocks, and extreme environmental conditions.
