Huawei Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, and Mate 40 Pro+ are unveiled with Kirin 9000 chipsetHuawei has just announced the Mate 40 sereis flagship smartphones. And flagships they are, indeed. The series includes three models: The Mate 40 is based on a Kirin 9000E chipset and the Pro models are based on the Kirin 9000 chipset. Based on TSMC's 5nm process, this 5G chipset has 30% more transistors than the latest Apple Bionic chip - the A14 Bionic. It also has a 10% faster octa-core CPU than the Snapdragon 865+, and a 24-core Mali-G78 GPU that's 52% faster than the GPu on the Snapdragon 865+. The NPU is 2.4x faster than the one on Qualcomm's flagship chipset. The overall power efficiency is also strongly improved and beats the competition, according to Huawei. The CPU consists of 1x 3.13GHz Cortex-A77 core, 3x 2.54GHz Cortex-A77 cores, and 4x 2.05GHz Cortex-A55 cores. An X-axis linear motor provides class-leading haptic feedback experience, which coupled with the stereo speakers that have 150% stronger bass, ensure really immersive gaming experience.

The Huawei Mate 40 is equipped with 6.5-inch Flex OLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2376 pixels, 68-degree edge curvature, 90Hz refresh rate, 2D face unlock technology, and in-display fingerprint sensor. The model is available in Black, White, Mystic Silver colors as well as Yellow and Gren for the vegan leather variants. Both the Huawei Mate 40 Pro and the Huawei Mate 40 Pro+ feature a 6.76-inch Flex OLED display with a resolution of 1344 x 2772 pixels, 88-degree edge curvature, 90Hz refresh rate, 3D face unlock technology, and in-display fingerprint sensor. The Huawei Mate 40 Pro is available in the same colors as its smaller sibling, while the Huawei Mate 40 Pro+ has a ceramic body in either black or white.

The camera department of the Huawei Mate 40 includes a 50MP primary shooter with an RYYB sensor and an f/1.9 aperture. It is adjoined by a 16MP ultra-wide snapper with an f/2.2 aperture and 17 mm focal length (35 mm equivalent). An 8MP telephoto shooter that's optically stabilized joins the pack with an 85 mm focal length equivalent and an f/2.4 aperture, 3x optical zoom. The device has a single front camera. The Huawei Mate 40 Pro has the same main camera but ups the utlra-wide unit with a 20MP sensor. Moreover, the telephoto unit uses a periscope structure with a 12MP sensor, an f/3.4 aperture, and OIS. On the front, there are two selfie shooters.

The Huawei Mate 40 packs a 4200 mAh battery, while the Huawei Mate 40 Pro has a 4400 mAh accumulator. They support 66W Huawei SuperCharge and 50W Wireless Huawei SuperCharge, each is TUV Rheinland certified for safety.
