In the past few days, Xiaomi unveiled three models from the Redmi 17 series - two global ones and one for China. Here they are with their full specifications.
Xiaomi Redmi 17 5G Global specifications
The Xiaomi Redmi 17 5G Global is based on the new Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 Mobile Platform, manufactured on a 4nm process that improves both speed and power efficiency. The octa‑core CPU combines Cortex‑A78 and Cortex‑A55 cores, reaching up to 2.4GHz, while the Adreno GPU handles graphics with ease during casual gaming and multimedia use. Memory configurations range from 4GB to 6GB of RAM paired with 128GB or 256GB of storage, and the phone supports Xiaomi’s Memory Extension feature, allowing the 6GB model to reach up to 12GB of usable RAM. Storage can be expanded up to 2TB via microSD, making the Redmi 17 5G suitable for users who keep large photo libraries, offline videos or heavy apps.The 6.9‑inch display is one of the device’s defining features. With a resolution of 720 x 1600 and a refresh rate that reaches up to 120Hz, it delivers smooth scrolling and responsive touch interaction thanks to a 240Hz sampling rate. Brightness peaks at 825 nits in High Brightness Mode, ensuring visibility outdoors. The panel is certified by TÜV Rheinland for Low Blue Light, Circadian Friendly and Flicker Free performance, and DC dimming helps reduce eye strain during extended viewing.
Photography is handled by a 50MP main rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture and a 5P lens, supported by an auxiliary lens for depth and additional shooting modes. An 8MP sensor is on the front for selfies. The 7500mAh typical capacity is engineered for multi‑day use, and charging supports up to 45W turbo speeds, though the charger is not included in the box. The phone also offers 22.5W wired reverse charging.
The connectivity options include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 5, NFC, dual-SIM 5G, a headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. The model also has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Durability is enhanced by an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance.
Xiaomi Redmi 17 5G China specifications
The Xiaomi Redmi 17 5G China is built around the same 6.9-inch HD+ IPS display, but the HBM level is lower - 800 nits and there's no information about any protective glass. TÜV Rheinland certifications and Wet Touch Control 2.0 are supported. The camera department is downgraded with a 13MP main shooter and an 8MP selfie snapper.The battery is also of smaller capacity, compared to the global version - 6300 mAh, with slower charging at 15W, with 7.5W reverse wired charging support. The chipset is different - a Unisoc T8300 unit with a 2.2GHz octa-core CPU and a dual‑core Mali‑G57 GPU. The Redmi 17 5G China is available in 4GB+128GB and 6GB+128GB configurations, using LPDDR4X memory and UFS 2.2 storage.
Xiaomi Redmi 17 4G specifications
The Xiaomi Redmi 17 4G is almost identical to the Xiaomi Redmi 17 5G Global. The main difference is the chipset, and subsequently the supported networks, of course. The 4G model is based on the MediaTek Helio G91 chipset with a 2GHz octa-core CPU and a dual-core Mali-G52 GPU. Users may choose from 4Gb and 6GB of RAM and 128GB and 256GB of expandable eMMC 5.1 storage.
