The Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 5G mobile platform goes officialQualcomm has announced its new offering for more affordable 5G-enabled chipsets that deliver outstanding performance. The Snapdragon 870 is the successor of the Snapdragon 865 Plus. The CPU's upgraded Kryo 585 prime cores are now clocked up to 3.2GHz. An Adreno GPU handles the graphics department and the well-known Snapdragon X55 5G is onboard for Sub-6GHz and mmWave 5G support. Qualcomm's Snapdragon Elite Gaming features are supported as well coupled with the Game Smoother and Adreno Fast Blend features. Unlike the Snapdragon 865 Plus which supports Wi-Fi 6E, the Snapdragon 870 supports only Wi-Fi 6 (2.4GHz & 5GHz). Smartphones from Xiaomi, Oppo, OnePlus, Vivo (iQOO), and Motorola will be among the first to use this new mobile platform.
