Razer Phone 2 goes official with a 120Hz refresh rate screen, the iconic "light" of Razer, SD 845Razer has unveiled the second edition of its gaming smartphones - the Razer Phone 2. The screen of the device has a 16:9 aspect ratio and a QHD resolution coupled with a 5.7-inch diagonal size. The display panel is an IGZO one from Sharp and has a variable refresh rate of 120Hz. It also supports HDR and the DCI-P3 colour space. The display is brighter than the one of the first edition. Its typical brightness is 470 nits and the maximum brightness measures 580 nits. The display sits on top a CNC-crafted aluminium alloy frame, while the back is covered with a glass. The latter was imminent as the Razer Phone 2 supports up to 15W Qi wireless charging. It is equipped with a 4000 mAh battery that also supports QuickCharge 4.0+. The handset has also received an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance. The Razer logo on the back is RGB backlit and is synchronized with the LED lights and the content on the screen to create a more immersive multimedia experience - this is known as Razer Chroma. Under the glass hood, a Snapdragon 845 mobile platform resides paired with 8GB of RAM and 64GB of UFS memory that can be expanded. The device employs a new vapour chamber cooling system to avoid throttling. Razer Phone 2 arrives with two front-facing stereo speakers with individual amplifiers and Dolby Atmos support. The handset features two 12MP Sony shooters on its back. The first is coupled with an f/1.75 lens, Dual Pixel AF and OIS, while the second employs an f/2.6 telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom. The front-facing shooter packs an 8MP sensor. Razer Phone 2 runs on almost stock Android 8.1 Oreo with a Game Booster. Razer said that it will offer a software update soon and will release a Cortex App to replace the Game Booster. Via this app, you'll be able to set up the screen's frame rate and CPU clock spped.
