Oppo will hold a press conference in two days, will probably announce a 10x zoom camera smartphone

Oppo will hold a press conference in two days, will probably announce a 10x zoom camera smartphoneToday Oppo has released an invitation for an event that's called "OPPO 2019 Future Technology Communication Conference". The poster is in black and white and depicts two doors that are about to open and the light outside the door gathered into a suggestive 10. At the bottom of the poster, the "Ten is for seeing" slogan is also full of hints. "Ten" implies a 10X hybrid optical zoom. "Seeing" refers to the functionality of the camera. This has re-ignited the rumours about an Oppo smartphone with a 10x optical zoom which sprang earlier, especially after the leaked multi-zoom technology patent map of Oppo. On December 25 last year, Sina Technology interviewed the head of the OPPO Imaging Laboratory for the exposure of several OPPO multi-zoom technology related patent documents. The person in charge said that OPPO is indeed exploring multiple or even 10 times zoom, which may become commercial in the near future. The person in charge also stated that OPPO has its own advantages in photo imaging of telephoto segments and the accumulation of related patents, and this advantage has been extended in the 10x hybrid optical zoom technology. At the MWC 2017 Oppo introduced a patented technology for 5 times lossless zoom, which is the predecessor and foundation of the patented technology of OPPO's 10 times lossless zoom. To achieve this, Oppo has come up with what looks like to be a second lens combo that's positioned below the hood at 90 degrees from the main lens module. The two are connected with a prism, which diverts the light from the main to the hidden lens module. The whole setup does remind of that of a periscope. Oppo says that "the resulting shift from the light's natural path delivers an unprecedented level of clarity at any zoom level. Moreover, the prism's angle can be adjusted in 0.0025-degree increments. The lens module can be adjusted, too, so this two-part optical image stabilization system (OIS) dynamically compensates vibrations.
