TCL CSOT showcases the world's first 8" 360-degree foldable AMOLED display and more at DTC 2021

The DTC 2021 of TCL CSOT in Shenzhen, China presented a number of new display technologies for smartphones mainly in the field of flexible OLED displays. The most noteworthy product is the world's first 8-inch 360-degree foldable AMOLED display. It uses stress-free hinge compensation mechanism technology. You can fold the display in both directions and there's no need of having a sub-screen. When unfolded, the display has an 8.16-inch diagonal size. When folded, the diagonal size measures 6.52 inches. The resolution of the display unfolded is 5120 x 1440 pixels. It supports variable refresh rates from 48Hz to 240Hz and has a 1ms response time. The display covers 95% of the DCI-P3 color space and is VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certified, meaning its peak brightness is around 1000 nits. Some rendered unveil a quad camera on the back with a quad-LED flash.
In addition, TCL CSOT showcased the world's first flexible display with inner folding plus OED technology. It has a 1.5 mm folding radius and a 3 mm curling radius. On another 8.01-inch folding display, TCL demonstrated its "cutting-edge depolarizer technology". The prototype has a 1.2 mm folding radius and covers 114% of the NTSC color space. Finally, there was a clamshell foldable smartphone prototype with an under-display camera and a 16.67-inch display when unfolded.
