Xiaomi Mi 8 coupon deal, detailed overview of the design and specificationsThe Xiaomi Mi 8 family of smartphones made a big entrance at the beginning of this month and are a true celebration of innovation and traditions interpreted in the future. The main model is the Xiaomi Mi 8 - a smartphone that makes that gap between expensive high-end and affordable high-end smartphones narrower than ever.
Currently, you can grab a unit for yourself from Geekbuying with a $6 discount using a site-wide coupon JEYDHTHL valid for any orders over $60.
Xiaomi Mi 8 evolves around a 6.21-inch Samsung AMOLED display from Samsung, protected by a 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass. The panel offers 600 nits of peak brightness, 430 nits of typical luminance, and covers the DCI-P3 colour space. It has an 18.7:9 aspect ratio, 1080 x 2248 pixels resolution and a pixel density of 402 ppi. The screen supports Always-on Display and HDR10 video content. As with all other premium Xiaomi smartphones, the Mi 8 offers a total of nine display profiles, which you can set from the Display settings in addition to the Reading and Night mode settings. The big screen fits in a body of a traditional smartphone with a 5.5-inch display. Xiaomi Mi 8 is one of the most compact mobile phones with a 6.2-inch display with a width of 74.9 mm and a height of 154.9 mm and the most compact one among devices with a 6.2-inch display and a 3400 mAh battery. It has one of the thinnest waistlines among those - 7.6 mm. The model's weight is 175 grammes and there's a good reason for that. The body is made of ultra-light 7000-series aluminium alloy and features a 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass on the front and a glass back plate. It adopts a waterdrop arc design for its waistline and a four-sided curve design for the whole body that should improve ergonomics. We expect the smartphone to be prone to smudges and slippery as all other flagships that have adopted a glass design for the front and back. Mathematical calculations show that the Xiaomi Mi 8 display takes up 84.09% of the total front surface of the device. It has a notch that houses a number of elements, including the 20MP front camera, light/proximity sensor, earpiece, infrared lighting and infrared lens. The last two elements are used for storing and recognizing your face ID, which allows you to unlock the smartphone even if the screen is off. This type of screen unlocking is far more secure and quicker than the standard facial unlock feature. The chin is minimized and the navigation bar is onscreen only. In case you want to enjoy unhindered screen real estate, you can hide the navigation bar and use intuitive onscreen gestures that will become mainstream very soon. The left frame houses a hybrid, dual Nano-SIM card tray. The right one is where the Volume and Power buttons are located. The bottom frame includes a USB Type-C port with two speaker grilles on its sides but there's only one speaker on board the device. A circular fingerprint sensor and a vertical dual camera module are placed on the back of the smartphone. The camera department of Xiaomi Mi 8 includes two 12MP shooters on the back and a 20MP selfie snapper on the front. The rear camera setup is identical to the one on the Mi MIX 2S. It includes a 12MP Sony IMX363 Exmor RS sensor for the main shooter that has a 1/2.55" size and huge 1.4 μm pixels. The sensor is combined with an f/1.8 lens. The camera is aided by a dual-monochrome LED flash, Phase detection with Dual Pixel, EIS for videos and a 4-axis OIS (optical image stabilisation), which achieves image stability via the accelerometer and gyroscope built in the device and providing a high-speed detection of 8 directions of jitter with a real-time drive micro motor. The second rear shooter packs a 12MP Samsung S5K3M3+ sensor with a 1/3.4" size and a 1.0 μm pixel size. It is paired with a telephoto lens with an f/2.4 aperture. It is the software that has been optimized and that has learned a higher DxOMark score of 105 for photo shooting for the Mi 8 compared to the 101 points for photo shooting of the Mi MIX 2S. The AI dual camera features on Mi 8 include AI beauty, studio lighting effects, portraits with bokeh, scene recognition, smart effects, super-resolution camera, etc. The front-facing camera has been upgraded to a 20-megapixel one. It has a 1.8 μm pixel size and supports 3D micro-shaping beauty, AI portraits, facial recognition, etc. The software allows you to edit not only photos but videos as well. We expect to receive a Mi 8 unit for review, so stay tuned for our camera samples and tests. Meanwhile, you can visit Xiaomi's website for sample photos. Finally, Xiaomi Mi 8 is based on a Snapdragon 845 mobile platform. During the press conference that unveiled this model, Lei Jun stated that the device scores more than 304000 points in AnTuTu. It is paired with 6GB of LPDDR4X dual-channel RAM and 64/128/256GB of UFS 2.1 type of storage. Power is supplied by a 3400 mAh battery that supports QC4+ fast charging and is coupled with a standard 18W QC3.0 fast charger. The model supports fully functional NFC, dual-SIM cards 4G and VoLTE, Bluetooth 5, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac with 2x2 MU-MIMO and LTE 4x4 MIMO. In addition, this is the first smartphone in the world to offer dual-band GPS support. It simultaneously receives L1 / L5 dual-band GPS signals and also supports Galileo: E1+E5a, QZSS: L1+L5, GLONASS: L1, and Beidou:B1.

We expect to receive the Xiaomi Mi 8 in our office and put it to our usual routine of testing and will feedback more specific details about this model. Meanwhile, if you're eager to get a unit for yourself with a discount, you can do so from Geekbuying with a $6 discount using a site-wide coupon JEYDHTHL valid for any orders over $60. The coupon expires on June 12th.
