Motorola announced two new members from its Edge series - the Motorola Edge 50 Neo and the Motorola Edge 50. These new devices combine a harmonious design, with great colors and premium finishes, with a durable build, from underwater protection (IP68) to military-grade certification (MIL-STA-810H compliant), which means the phones have passed several durability tests and can withstand extreme environmental conditions. They are designed to withstand dust, dirt, and sand over 1mm in size, along with submersion in 1.5 meters of fresh water for up to 30 minutes, and were engineered to meet military standards for durability. They also feature the added durability of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on the Edge 50 Neo and Gorilla Glass 5 on the Edge 50.
The Motorola Edge 50 Neo caters to those who don’t sacrifice on specs but would prefer a more compact form factor that perfectly fits in the hand. It also fits different lifestyles it arrives in four color options: Pantone Poinciana, Pantone Lattè, Pantone Grisaille, and Pantone Nautical Blue. The Motorola Edge 50 will be available in three colors: Jungle Green, Koala Grey and the Pantone Color of the Year, Peach Fuzz. These devices come with an exceptionally slender and lightweight body, perfectly blended camera housing, and premium materials like vegan leather or vegan suede.
The camera systems of both models are identical and powered by Moto AI , allowing consumers to create and capture their content effortlessly in any setting or lighting. When taking photos, it can be tricky to capture scenes at night. That’s why these devices’ main camera combines the superior light sensitivity of Sony’s LYTIA sensor with Moto AI image processing to do the extra work. This fusion delivers a leap in image quality without any additional effort from users. Whether they are capturing the city skyline at dusk or a cozy evening with friends, consumers will notice how crisp and clear their photos are, thanks to Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and advanced all-pixel focus technology.
To continue exploring their creative potential, the users can check out the 10MP Telephoto lens, which offers 3X optical zoom for professional-looking portraits and a remarkable 30X superzoom to capture distant details. The 13MP Ultrawide lens also expands their horizons, perfect for breathtaking landscapes or group photos, and when up close, the integrated Macro Vision reveals the intricate beauty of everyday objects.
Working behind the camera sensors, Moto AI image processing works with all lenses to analyze multiple frames of a photo, blending exposures to create a true-to-life image. Unlike other methods, it works directly on the uncompressed image to preserve hidden details, richer colors, and subtle textures. Adaptive Stabilization that automatically adjusts to the user’s movement, providing extreme stabilization when they need it. motorola edge 50 users can also opt for the Long Exposure feature to capture on moving water or light trails with a single tap—no professional equipment needed.
The Motorola Edge 50 Neo has a 4310 mAh battery and the Motorola Edge 50 is powered by a 5000 mAh unit. Both support 68W fast charging, 15W wireless charging, and reverse wired charging. The Edge 50 Neo is based on the Dimensity 7300 chipset, while the Edge 50 is based on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 Mobile Paltform. Each arrives with 8GB/12GB of RAM and 256GB/512GB of unexpandable storage.
The Edge 50 is already on sale in India, Mexico and selected Middle East markets. Starting off today, the device will be available across selected European markets with a starting price of €599 euros. The motorola edge 50 will also roll out in the coming weeks to Latin America, Asia and Oceania markets.
