27 February 2018, 13:45:54

Asus ZenFone 5, ZenFone 5Z and ZenFone 5 Lite are official with dual cameras and AIAsus has just announced the ZenFone 5, ZenFone 5Z and ZenFone 5 Lite, all three with dual cameras and AI techs on board. The first device is ZenFone 5 Lite designed with two front and two rear cameras. The front pair includes a 20MP Sony IMX376 camera with an 80-degree wide-angle lens and Fae Unlock and a secondary shooter with a 120-degree wide angle lens, both shooting independently. They are aided by a soft selfie light. The rear snappers work independently, too. The main one packs a 16MP sensor, while the auxiliary camera has a 120-degree wide-angle lens as well. ZenFone 5 Lite features a 6-inch FHD+ display that takes up 80.3% of the total front surface of the smartphone. It is covered with a 2.5D curved glass front and back and is available in white, black, and red colours. It houses either a Snapdragon 630 or a Snapdragon 430 mobile platform and is powered by a 3300 mAh battery. Traditionally for Asus, the model has three slots - a dual-SIM one and a separate third for a microSD card. The model supports NFC with Android Pay and packs a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The Asus ZenFone 5 is based on a Snapdragon 636 chipset. It also supports AI, dual camera setups via its Spectra ISP and optimized gaming graphics. The AI vision of Asus is based on the notion that AI should not be complicated. The current ZenFones learn from pre-defined patterns but also from your daily use of the phone. This is at the base of the creation of ZenUI 5. They regard the camera, display, ringtone, boost, charging and photo learning. The cameras of the ZenFone 5 pack 16 different scenarios and they adjust automatically the shooting settings depending on the objects they have recognized. The second rear camera of the model also has a 120-degree wide-angle lens. The main rear camera is equipped with a Sony IMX363 sensor, 4-axis OIS, an f/1.8 lens, and a Dual Pixel PDAF. The model features a 19:9 display with an FHD+ resolution and DCI-P3 colour space coverage. The diagonal size is 6.2 inches but the body size is like the one of ZenFone 4 that has a 5.5-inch display. Asus is also quite happy with the screen's notch - it is small and houses a receiver, a LED notification light, light/proximity sensor and a front camera. In addition, when you use the phone in horizontal mode, the notch disappears and the screen is resized to normal. The SD 636 chipset on the ZenFone 5 is coupled with 6GB of RAM and a 3300 mAh battery keeps the lights on. Finally, the model has two stereo speakers aided by the latest smart amplifier by NXP - NXP 9874. The device is bundled with hi-res earphones - ZenEar S, that support DTS Headphone:X. It also supports Face and Fingerprint Unlock. Asus ZenFone 5Z is next powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 mobile platform. It is coupled with 4/6/8GB of RAM and 64/128/256GB of internal memory. All the rest is almost identical, including the design, with the Asus ZenFone 5.ZenFone 5 Lite will launch in March, ZenFone 5 will hit the market in April. ZenFone 5Z will be available from June this year with a price of EUR 479 for the 4GB+64GB version.
