Battery Tests

Oukitel WP30 Pro packs an 11000 mAh Li-Pol battery with 120W fast charging support. It arrives with a 120W USB-C charger in the box and a USB-C to USB-C cable. All battery tests we run on the devices we review are developed by us and performed with the screen of the device calibrated to 200 cd/m². Battery-saving features are disabled. We've tested an identical or similar combination of a display, refresh rate, chipset, and battery, so we've built a good base for making comparisons. All test results and comparisons are below. The battery of our WP30 Pro was charged in full for 46 minutes with the provided USB data cable and charger. The charging process is very fast until the battery regains 90% of its charge. That happens 26 minutes from the start. After this, it takes 20 minutes to complete the last 10% and charge the battery to 100%. The battery temperature is quite dynamic. It starts at 21°C, jumps to 42°C in 5 minutes, and hits 50°C after another 8 minutes. The temperature maintains this level for 12 minutes and then starts decreasing, measuring 34°C in the end. During our intensive browsing test with the display's refresh rate set at 60Hz, the battery of our WP30 Pro lasted for 20 hours and 23 minutes. The discharging process draws a relatively steady line from the start almost until the end when it speeds up a bit. The battery temperature starts at 34°C, drops to 30°C in 1 hour, and stays at this level until the end. During our intensive browsing test but with the screen's refresh rate set to 90Hz, the battery of our WP30 Pro lasted for 18 hours and 34 minutes. The discharging process follows almost exactly the pattern of the 60Hz test. The battery temperature starts at 24°C. Reaches 31°C in 1 hour and a half and stays at this level for the next 13 hours. Afterward, it goes a notch up and finishes the process measuring 32°C. The last browsing test with the screen's refresh rate set to 120Hz shows 16 hours and 7 minutes of battery life in intensive browsing conditions. The discharging process follows the same pattern observed during the previous two tests. The battery temperature starts at 24°C. Reaches 33°C in 1 hour and 15 minutes, and stays at this level until the end. The video test for battery life uses a 1080p video at 30 fps with a ~20Mbps rate is used. Our review unit's score is 26 hours and 15 minutes. The discharging process shows a more pronounced faster ending compared with the browsing tests. The battery temperature starts at 25°C, increases to 28°C after 1 hour and 30 minutes, and stays at this level until the end. The 4K video battery life test uses a 2160p video at 30 fps with a ~55 Mbps rate. In this test, the battery of the Oukitel WP30 Pro lasted for 22 hours and 51 minutes. The discharging process curve is almost the same as the one of the 1080p video test. The battery temperature starts at 32°C, drops to 28-29°C, and remains at this level until the end. For the 3D Graphics/Gaming test, the YEBIS OpenGL ES 3.0 3D Tech Demo is used. The result from this test is 10 hours and 6 minutes. The discharging process curve has minor fluctuations at the end after the battery's charge drops below 5%. The battery temperature starts at 33°C, reaches 38°C in 1 hour and 30 minutes, and after 3 hours increases to 40-41°C, remaining at this level until the end. The above photos of the Oukitel WP30 Pro are taken with a FLIR thermal camera. The left photo shows the device's temperature during charging. The hottest part during this process is the center of the chin with a temperature of 44.6°C. The second photo depicts the device's temperature during our 3D battery life test. In this case, the hottest part is near the center of the upper half of the body with a temperature of 39.9°C.

Battery Settings

The Battery menu is very limited. It contains the general battery status - charge percentage and charging/not charging. Then, there's the Battery Saver with its usual options for automatic and manual switching on/off. Finally, there's the battery percentage toggle and that's it - no other options for management.
