Doogee V10 Review - 5G connectivity and great battery life in a compact rugged package

Overview

The Doogee V10 happens to be the brand's first 5G smartphone. Based on the quite popular Dimensity 700 chipset, this smartphone combines reasonable performance, big battery, 5G connectivity, 48MP camera, and all this in a rugged package making it a well-balanced all-rounder for people with active lifestyles. Moreover, Doogee has added a distinctive feature - an infrared thermometer for contactless temperature measurement. As usual, we begin our in-depth review with the official specifications.

The Doogee V10 is fitted with a 6.39-inch IPS display with a resolution of 720 x 1560 pixels, 400 cd/m² typical brightness, and a Corning Gorilla Glass for protection. The camera department includes three rear cameras headed by a 48MP Samsung S5KGM1 main shooter with an f/2.0 aperture, 6-element lens, 90° FoV. The second one is an 8MP Samsung S5K4H7 ultra-wide-angle unit with a 130° FoV, 5-element lens, and an f/2.0 aperture. Finally, there's a 2MP GalaxyCore GC02M2 depth-sensing lens. The rear cameras are accompanied by an infrared temperature sensor for contactless temperature measurement. On the front, there's a 16MP Sony IMX351 selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture, 5-element lens, 80° FoV. The smartphone is powered by an 8500 mAh battery with 33W fast charging and 10W wireless charging support. A MediaTek Dimensity 700 (MT6833) chipset ticks under the hood flexing an octa-core CPU with two 2.2GHz Cortex-A76 cores and six 2GHz Cortex-A55 cores. A dual-core ARM Mali-G57 MP2 GPU clocked at 955 MHz is responsible for the graphics. The smartphone arrives with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage.

The Doogee V10 has a dual Nano-SIM tray with both SIM cards supporting 5G. The network bands supported by both cards are as follows: 2G GSM (2/3/5/8), 2.5G (BC0/BC1), 3G WCDMA (1/2/4/5/8), 4G TDD-LTE (34/38/39/40/41), 4G FDD-LTE (B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/13/17/18/19/20/25/26/28A/28B/66), and 5G NR (n1/3/5/7/8/20/28/38/40/41/77/78/79). The wireless connectivity options of the model include Bluetooth 5.2, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi Display. The smartphone also supports NFC and works with GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and Beidou. The device has a USB Type-C port and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. It runs on Android 11 with Doogee's overlay on top. The rugged body is IP68 and IP69K rated for water and dust resistance and has a MIL-STD-810G certification for resistance to drops, shock, pressure, humidity, acidic atmosphere, temperature extremes, and similar types of impact.
