Oukitel K12 Review

Performance

After Oukitel K9, Oukitel K12 is the second smartphone with a MediaTek Helio P35 (MT6765) chipset we test. This SoC uses TSMC's 12nm FinFET production process and is created especially for full-screen smartphones with FHD+ display and high aspect ratio. The CPU consists of eight Cortex-A53 cores. Four are clocked at 2.3GHz and the other four - at 1.8GHz. A 680 MHz PowerVR GE8320 GPU is responsible for the graphics. The K12 ups the LPDDR4X double-channel RAM clocked at 1600 MHz to 6GB. The built-in memory is the same as the one on the K9 - 64GB of eMMC 5.1 storage which can be expanded with up to 128GB. Of those, 54GB are available to the user. The results from the K12 tests confirm what we've observed while testing the K9 - the Helio P35 chipset is on one level with the Helio P23 chipset in terms of synthetic benchmarks. Overall, the K12 outperforms the K9 a bit. The AnTuTu 7 result is 87957 points, which is quite average for smartphones based on a Helio P23 SoC. The same applies to the single-core and multi-core results from the Geekbench 4 test but we can also include the Helio P25 and Snapdragon 625 chipset as equals in the context of the single-core test and Snapdragon 820/821 as well as Helio X25/X27 in the context of the multi-core test. Compared with the 3D SlingShot and IceStorm results gained from the numerous smartphones with Helio P23 we've tested, Oukitel K12 shows relatively the same results. Androbench shows top sequential reading and writing results for an eMMC 5.1 type of memory.
