Add DeviceSpecifications as a preferred source on GoogleHonor has officially introduced the Honor Magic8 Pro Air in China. The model blends ultra‑slim industrial design with cutting‑edge display technology, powerful imaging hardware, and an expanded suite of AI‑driven features. Positioned as one of the thinnest and lightest flagship‑class devices of the year, the Magic8 Air aims to redefine what a compact high‑performance smartphone can deliver.
At just 6.1mm thick and weighing approximately 155 grams, the Magic8 Air stands out in a market dominated by increasingly heavy devices. Despite its slim profile, the phone maintains a solid build and incorporates Honor's robust "Giant Rhino Glass" for screen protection. The 6.31‑inch OLED display supports a resolution of 1216 x 2640 px, true 10.7‑billion‑color output, and 100% DCI‑P3 color space coverage. Honor is also pushing brightness boundaries: the panel reaches a staggering 6000 nits peak brightness, 1800 nits global peak brightness, and can dim down to just 1 nit for low‑light comfort.
Eye‑care technology remains a major focus. The Magic8 Air integrates Honor's Oasis Eye‑Protection system, 4320Hz ultra‑high‑frequency PWM dimming, dry‑eye‑friendly adjustments, natural‑color rendering, AI‑driven brightness tuning, and multiple comfort modes. While not a medical device, the company emphasizes that the display is engineered to reduce visual fatigue during extended use.
Powering the device is MediaTek's Dimensity 9500 chipset, featuring an octa‑core CPU architecture with a top frequency of 4.21GHz and the Mali G1‑Ultra MC12 GPU. Honor pairs this with its OS Turbo X and GPU Turbo X optimizations to enhance sustained performance and efficiency. Storage options range from 12GB+256GB up to 16GB+1TB, running on MagicOS 10 based on Android 16.
The Magic8 Air's camera system is equally ambitious. The rear setup includes a 50MP main camera with a large 1/1.3‑inch sensor and f/1.6 aperture, a 50MP ultra‑wide lens offering a 112‑degree field of view and 2.5 cm macro capability, and a 64MP periscope telephoto lens with 3.2x optical zoom. All major lenses support OIS, and the device offers 4K video recording at up to 60 fps, slow‑motion capture, HDR imaging, and a wide range of AI‑enhanced shooting modes, including Eagle Eye capture, stage mode, and high‑pixel photography. On the front, a 50MP camera supports 4K video, EIS stabilization, dual zoom levels, and a suite of portrait and night‑mode features.
Honor equips the Magic8 Air with a 5500 mAh battery, supporting 80W wired and 50W wireless fast charging with reverse wireless charging support. Intelligent charging modes help preserve battery health over time. The phone is certified for IP68 and IP69 resistance, offering protection against dust, water, and high‑pressure spray.
AI plays a central role throughout the system. The dedicated AI key provides quick access to Honor’s YOYO intelligent assistant, while features such as AI face‑swap detection, Magic Text, full‑screen translation, AI subtitles, smart multi‑window, and cross‑device collaboration aim to streamline daily tasks. Security is reinforced with tools like Phone Shield, password vaults, fuzzy location, anti‑fraud firewalls, and privacy alerts.
The Honor Magic8 Pro Air is available in orange, white, black, and purple colors and is priced as follows:
- 12GB+256GB = CNY 4999
- 12GB+512GB = CNY 5299
- 16GB+512GB = CNY 5599
- 16GB+1TB = CNY 5999
