Honor Magic8 RSR Porsche Design debuts with high-end design and upgraded camera technology

The new model embraces a bold sports‑car aesthetic while packing top-tier hardware, a reinforced body, and a redesigned camera system that sets it apart from the rest of the Magic 8 lineup.
Positioned as the senior member of the Magic8 family, the Magic8 RSR Porsche Design measures 8.45 mm thick and weighs approximately 239 grams. Its most striking visual change is the revamped camera module. After years of the signature hexagonal bump on previous RSR editions, Honor has introduced a rounded square design, giving the device a fresh identity. The phone arrives in two refined color options - Moonstone and Slate Ash Gray - moving away from the darker tones typically associated with the series.
Honor has constructed the device with an ultrafine crystal nano‑ceramic back panel paired with an aluminum alloy middle frame. This combination enhances durability while maintaining a sleek, comfortable feel. The microcrystalline nano‑ceramic finish is sculpted to evoke the silhouette of a Porsche 911's head, reinforcing the collaboration's automotive DNA.
On the front, the Magic8 RSR features a 6.71‑inch full‑depth curved display capable of reaching 6000 nits peak brightness. It also incorporates Honor's AI Oasis Eye Protection technology, designed to reduce visual strain during prolonged use.
Under the hood, the device runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and is available in 16GB+512GB and 24GB+1TB configurations. Powering the system is a substantial 7200 mAh battery with support for 120W wired and 80W wireless fast charging, ensuring rapid top‑ups despite the large capacity.
Photography is a major focus of the Magic8 RSR Porsche Design. The rear camera system includes a 50MP main sensor with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera offering 3.7x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom. On the front, a 50MP selfie camera is paired with a 3D depth sensor for secure face authentication.
Honor has introduced three significant imaging upgrades with this release: its in‑house AiMAGE color engine for richer, more accurate tones; the RSR Professional Camera Kit, which includes a 200 mm telephoto teleconverter for DSLR‑like reach; and a CIPA 6.5‑rated anti‑shake system applied to both the main and periscope lenses. These enhancements aim to deliver sharper, more stable shots even in challenging conditions. The company also confirmed that the Magic8 Pro will adopt the same stabilization technology in the future.
Rounding out the feature set are Honor's self‑developed C1+ RF enhancement chip, the E2 energy‑efficiency chip, an AI off‑focus eye‑protection processor, and second‑generation satellite communication capabilities.
The Honor Magic8 RSR Porsche Design is now available for pre‑order and will officially go on sale on January 23. Pricing is set at CNY 7999 for the 16GB+512GB version and CNY 8999 for the 24GB+1TB variant.
