Overview

POCO did it again. It has created a smartphone with a catchy design and well-balanced specs that is not only appealing to the masses but is also widely affordable. The POCO M4 Pro 5G is a re-branded Redmi Note 11 and is the successor of the POCO M3 Pro 5G offering several upgrades over the predecessor. With the M4 Pro you get a bigger display, a newer 5G chipset, faster charging, a new set of cameras, stereo speakers, and the latest MIUI 12.5. Specifications

The POCO M4 Pro is built around a 6.6-inch IPS display with an FHD+ resolution (1080 x 2400). The display supports 60Hz and 90Hz refresh rates. Protection is ensured by a 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 3. A 16MP OmniVision OV16A1Q selfie camera resides in a punch hole in the top central part of the screen. The rear cameras are two - a 50MP Samsung S5KJN1 main shooter with an f/1.8 aperture and an 8MP Sony IMX355 ultra-wide camera with an f/2.2 aperture. The smartphone is powered by a 5000 mAh battery supporting 33W fast charging. A 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 810 (MT6833P) system-on-chip ticks under POCO M4 Pro's hood. This new chipset comprises a 2.4GHz octa-core CPU and a dual-core ARM Mali-G57 GPU. There are 4GB or 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM by SK Hynix and 64GB or 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage by SK Hynix on board. The latter can be further expanded via a microSD card slot with up to 1TB.

The device supports dual-SIM 5G and the following network bands: 2G GSM (B2/3/5/8), 3G W-CDMA (B1/2/4/5/8), 4G LTE-FDD (B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/17/20/28/32/66), 4G LTE-TDD (B38/40/41), 5G NSA and 5G SA (n1/n3/n5/n7/n8/n20/n28/n38/n40/n41/n66/n77/n78). The wireless connectivity options of the model include Bluetooth 5.1, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Display. The smartphone also arrives with NFC support and is equipped with a 3.5 mm jack, IR blaster, a USB Type-C 2.0 with OTG support, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor by Goodix/FingerPrintCards. The POCO M4 Pro supports GPS, GLONASS, and Beidou and runs on Global MIUI for POCO 12.5 based on Android 11.

What's in the box

The POCO M4 Pro is packed in what has already become a signature yellow box for the brand. The brand and model names are imprinted on the top and sides of the lid. The phone has a protective foil and a screen protector.
