Battery Tests

Ulefone Armor Pad 2 packs an 18600 mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. Ulefone specifies 84 hours of talk time and 840 hours of standby time. All battery tests we run on the devices we review are developed by us and performed with the screen of the device being calibrated to 200 cd/m². Battery-saving features are disabled. The battery of our review unit was charged in full for 3 hours and 22 minutes with the provided USB cable and charger. The charging process develops steadily from the start until the battery regains 80% of its charge. This takes 2 hours and 15 minutes. After that, charging slows down a bit and even more so after the battery reaches 90% in 25 minutes. At that point, the process becomes even slower and it takes 40 minutes to charge the battery in full. Obviously, the charging process, even though fast, does not put a strain on the battery as its temperature fluctuates from 18°C to 25°C ad there are no abrupt temperature changes. During our intensive browsing test, the battery of our review unit lasted for 26 hours and 48 minutes. The discharging process has a slow start and a slightly fast finish during the last 5% of the charge. In between, the process is steady. The battery temperature is in the 25-27°C range from the start until the end. The video test for battery life uses a 1080p video at 30 fps with a ~20Mbps rate. Our review unit's score is 27 hours and 31 minutes. The discharging process follows the same pattern observed during the browsing test - a slower start, steady middle (the majority of the time), and a snappier end. The battery temperature is stable from the start until the end around the 26-27°C mark. For the 3D Graphics/Gaming test, the YEBIS OpenGL ES 3.0 3D Tech Demo is used. The result from this test is 18 hours and 14 minutes. The discharging process follows the same patter observed during the other two tests. The battery temperature starts at 25°C, reaches 30°C in 1 hour, and remains at this level until the end.

Battery Settings

The Battery menu is as simple as it can get. It gives the usual battery status information, usage data by app and service, a battery percentage toggle, a battery manager toggle, and a battery saver with the option to set a schedule and turn off the saver automatically when the battery is charged at 90% or above.
