Gigabyte has presented four new smartphones that are to be launched in Russia and other selected markets in Europe. The first one is the GSmart Mika M2
, which features a 5-inch IPS OGS display with an Asahi scratch-resistant glass and a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. Under the hood is placed a MediaTek MT6582 SoC with a 1.3GHz quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU, a 500MHz dual-core Mali-400 MP2 GPU, and 1GB of RAM. The internal storage is 8GB, expandable via a microSD card slot. The device is powered by a 2000 mAh battery, which provides 8 hours of talk time and 300 hours of standby time. On the back is placed a 13-megapixel primary camera with LED flash, f/2.4 aperture and 1080p video recording. The front shooter has a 5-megapixel sensor. The GSmart Mika M2
arrives with Android 4.4.2 KitKat. It has two SIM card slots and supports 2G GSM and 3G WCDMA networks as well as Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, A-GPS, etc.
The second device is the GSmart Arty A3
, which in terms of specifications looks like a bit downgraded Mika M2
. It is a bit thicker and heavier but has an IPS screen of the same diagonal size but with a lower resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. The chipset is the same MediaTek MT6582 one with a 1.3GHz quad-core CPU and 1GB of RAM. The storage is twice less measuring 4GB. The battery is also the same with a capacity of 2000 mAh. The set of cameras is different, with the primary one featuring an 8-megapixel sensor, while the front one has a 2-megapixel sensor. The GSmart Arty A3
is provided with Android 4.4.2 KitKat, two SIM card slots and has the same network support and connectivity options as the Mika M2
The GSmart Roma R2 (Plus Edition)
is the most compact of all four with a 4-inch IPS display and a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. Again, it is powered by a MediaTek MT6582 chipset with a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.3GHz. The RAM measures 1GB, while the built-in memory is 8GB (expandable). The battery is relatively small with a capacity of 1400 mAh, ensuring 3.5 hours of talk time and 220 hours of standby time. This dual-SIM smartphone supports 2G GSM and 3G WCDMA networks plus Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0. It is fitted with a 5-megapixel rear camera, a VGA front snapper and arrives with Android 4.4 KitKat. The device is available in several colors: black, white, red, and blue.
The GSmart Guru (White Edition)
is the most powerful of all four smartphones as it is equipped with a MediaTek MT6589T chipset, including a quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU clocked at 1.5GHz, a PowerVR SGX544 GPU and 2GB of LPDDR2 RAM. The internal memory is also generous measuring 32GB (expandable). The seamless operation of the device is backed by a non-removable 3000 mAh battery, which provides 12 hours of talk time and 300 hours of standby time. The GSmart Guru (White Edition)
also boasts a beautiful IPS OGS display with a 5-inch diagonal size, Full HD (1080p) resolution, and 441 ppi pixel density. The smartphone operates with one SIM card supporting 2G GSM and 3G WCDMA networks. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, A-GPS, etc. The set of cameras includes a 13-megapixel rear one and a 5-megapicel front shooter. Oddly enough, it arrives with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
