NEC has launched in Japan four new tablets from its LaVie series. LaVie Tab S TS508

succeed the LaVie Tab S from 2014 and the LaVie Tab E from 2015

features an 8-inch IPS display with a WUXGA resolution (1920 x 1200) and a 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm APQ8053 CPU coupled with 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. The tablet has an 8MP primary camera, a 5MP front-facing one and supports Dolby Atmos surround sound. It is dust and splash-proof (IPX2 and IP5X certified) and supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. The model runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow. A 4250 mAh battery keeps the lights on.
The second model actually has three variants, all of which have 16G of internal memory and run Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The first is the LaVie Tab E TE507/FAW
with a 7-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, a 1.2GHz quad-core APQ8016 CPU, 2GB of RAM. It is also equipped with a 5MP rear camera, a 2MP selfie snapper and a 3500 mAh battery. The model supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. The second is the LaVie Tab E TE508/BAW
, which has the same connectivity properties and camera setup as the previous variant, but a larger, 8-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. Its hardware is also based on a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT8161 CPU coupled with 1GB of RAM. Power is supplied by a 4290 mAh battery. The third version is called LaVie Tab E TE510/BAL
and is based on a 1.3GHz quad-core MT6185 CPU with 2GB of RAM. Its display has a 10.1-inch diagonal size and an IPS panel with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels.
