Qiku Q Terra - a great smartphone in three flavours to suit all budgets and preferencesOne of the latest venturers of the smartphone market is the China-based Qiku. This a joint-venture between one of the largest local mobile device manufacturer - Coolpad - and Qihoo 360 - the giant of the internet security market. It enters the smartphone game with three new devices - one for each segment - a low-end, mid-range and high-end model. The flagship sports some pretty impressive specifications, so let's start with it. It is called Qiku Q Terra Exclusive a.k.a. Prime. Its aluminum-magnesium alloy body is available in gold and is graced by a big 6-inch display by Sharp with a 2K resolution (1440 x 2560 pixels). Covering 95% of the NTSC color gamut, with a 497 ppi pixel density and a contrast ratio of 1500:1, the screen does provide exceptional visual quality. Additionally, the model packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset that includes four Cortex-A57 and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2GHz and an Adreno 430 GPU. There are also 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage on board. The Qiku Q Terra Ultimate has the same 6-inch display, but with an FHD resolution (1080 x 1920 pixels), 397ppi pixel density, and a 1400:1 contrast ratio. It is available in platinum and silver. This model is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset aided by 3GB of RAM. The dual 4G version of this model has 16GB of internal memory, while the full Netcom version boasts 32GB of storage. Both the Exclusive and the Ultimate Edition of the Qiku Q Terra have a dual-camera set-up on the back. One has a 13MP Sony Exmor RS IMX278 sensor and the other a 13MP Sony Exmor RS IMX214. Both have an f/1.8 aperture, 6-element lens and dual camera lossless focus. The front shooter packs an 8MP camera. Audio quality is not overlooked as well and it ensured by a number of dedicated audio chips, including an ESS ES9018K2M DAC. Power is provided by a 3700 mAh battery, which should provide enough juice for supporting long hours of internet browsing and video playback on the big screen of both models. Both run Android 5.1 Lollipop and support 2G, 3G, and 4G LTE networks on a dual-SIM set-up. The connectivity options also include BT 4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, etc. The third model of the company is named Qiku Q Luna Youth and has a totally different set-up. The FHD display has a 5.5-inch diagonal size. The chipset is a MediaTek MT6753 one coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. On the back is placed a 13-megapixel camera, while on the front is the same 8-megapixel shooter. The battery's capacity is slightly decreased, compared to the other two models, to 3000 mAh. Being a security company Qihoo 360 has provided a finger-print sensor for all three models as well as a whole anti-fraud and smartphone loss system. The prices of the three smartphones are as follows: the Exclusive Edition costs CNY 3599 (USD 493), the Ultimate Edition is priced at CNY 1999 (USD 274), while the Luna Youth one costs CNY 1199 (USD 164). They will go on sale in China in September, followed later this year by India and Indonesia as well as by Russia, Brazil, and Turkey later on.Source
