Unihertz Jelly Max Review
15 Luglio 2024, 00:48:34
Design, build and controls
The major asset of the Jelly Max is its design. First and foremost is the compactness of the handset. With a width of 62.7 mm, a height of 128.7 mm, and a depth of 16.3 mm, the Jelly Max will fit anyone's palm just right. These measurements make the device 2 mm narrower than the iPhone 12 mini and the iPhone 13 mini. The Jelly Max is also 3 mm shorter. Moreover, it has a battery that's almost twice as large as that of the iPhone mini models but is only 40-50 grams heavier. You won't be shy to show off your Jelly Max, either. It has a charming silhouette with impressive back curves improving the handheld experience. The polycarbonate rear shell boasts a transparency level that reveals just enough to get your attention, yet keeps all its powerful secrets inside. Currently, the only available color is black and it is a mesmerizing one as the rear shell is polished to perfection and, at times, it looks like being liquid. The Jelly Max is perfectly compact, yet, it arrives with all the whistles and blows you'd expect in a smartphone. The front is occupied by a beautiful display with rounded corners and thin bezels - 3 mm on the top, 2 mm on the sides, and 5 mm at the bottom. The display has a punch hole for the front camera in its top left corner. The receiver is placed right between the screen and the frame. The light and proximity sensors are seen on the top bezel to the right of the receiver. You can choose from on-screen gesture and virtual button navigation. The rear shell is the most interesting part. It is a massive element that covers not only the back but also the largest part of the four sides. It looks meticulously crafted combining decorative elements and partial transparency that beautifully plays with light. The rear shell is strongly curved on all four sides as to encompass the big battery and ensure a comfortable and stable grip. The top part of the rear shell is occupied by the camera island. It has a rectangular shape with rounded corners. The top half of this element has a metal plate and houses the dual-tone LED flash. The bottom half features the two cameras - horizontally aligned with the rear-firing speaker. The entire camera island has a chamfered metal frame. Right below it you will see the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. It is placement is convenient for recording fingerprint IDs, while holding the device with one hand. The NFC area is further down below the rear shell as drawn on it - there are two LED notification lights on its sides. The Unihertz logo is seen at the bottom. The top frame is the home of the IR blaster and a microphone. The bottom frame houses the main microphone and a USB Type-C port. There are two visible screws there as well. The Volume Up and Volume down buttons are positioned on the left frame and further down on it, you will see the hybrid, dual Nano-SIM card slot. The customizable button is painted in red and positioned on the right frame followed by the Power button.Recensioni più recenti
