Display

Unihertz Jelly Max is built around a 5.05-inch IPS display with a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels with a good pixel density of 320 ppi. The refresh rate is 60Hz. The Display settings include MdeiaTek's MiraVision suit of picture quality optimization features and the usual brightness level bar, lock screen options, toggles for the adaptive brightness, dark theme, night light, auto-rotate, and lift-to-wake features. You can also select a screen saver, font size, body font, and icon shape. The display of our review unit is bright and with all the available features for adjusting the color temperature and brightness, it is comfortable to use both indoors and outdoors The maximum brightness of the display of our review unit is 566.267 cd/m² measured on a fully white screen. Our usual measurements of the white and black luminance, static contrast ratio, and color temperature are published below. We measure them twice - once on a single frame that displays 50% white and 50% black and the second time, on two separate frames displaying a fully white and a fully black screen.

The white luminance measured on two separate frames is significantly higher than the white luminance measured on a single frame showing 50% white and 50% black - that's 566.267 cd/m² cd/m² against 398.019 cd/m², respectively. The black luminance does not differ that much, hence, the contrast ratio is slightly higher with the two separate frames measurement - 1475:1 against 1137:1. The temperature of the white point is agreeable within the 8200-8300 K range. The CIE diagram shows that the display has the potential to be calibrated to show 100% of the sRGB color space but it doesn't. It demonstrates that while the main blue and magenta hues are covered correctly, the cyan, green, pink, and red hues are subdued, while the light green, yellow, and orange hues appear more saturated. The display panel has a traditional vertical striped RGB subpixel arrangement.
