Battery Tests

The Doogee S61 Pro is equipped with a 5180 mAh Li-Ion battery. The unit arrives with a 10W charger. Below we publish the results from our proprietary battery tests. Each is performed with the screen of the device being calibrated to 200 cd/m2 and with battery-saving features disabled.
Charging (3 hours and 15 minutes)
Our Doogee S61 Pro review unit charged from 0 to 100% in 3 hours and 15 minutes. The charging process develops with one and the same speed from 0 to 65% that's 1 hour and 40 minutes from the start. After that, it slows down a bit until the battery regains 90% of its charge - that's another 50 minutes more. For the last 10% to reach 100%, the battery needs 45 minutes and during that time the process slows down significantly. The battery temperature follows that tri-step development accordingly. It starts at 30°C, in a minute hits 35°C, and continues to increase gradually, until it reaches its peak of 43°C one hour and five minutes from the start. This level is maintained for half an hour, after which the battery temperature gradually drops down to 40°C, and after another 40 minutes, it continues to decrease measuring 32°C in the end.
Browsing (12 hours and 22 minutes)
During our intensive browsing test, the battery of our review unit lasted for 12 hours and 22 minutes. The discharging process is slow for the first 20 minutes. Afterward, it gains speed and maintains it until the battery drops to 3% of its charge - at that moment the process speeds up even more. The battery temperature starts at 31°C. It reaches 39°C in 1 hour and 10 minutes and remains at this level for the next 7 hours and 40 minutes. After that, it begins decreasing, measuring 37°C in the end.
1080p Video (14 hours and 43 minutes)
1920x1080, 30 fps, H.264, 20Mbps bitrate
The video test for battery life uses a 1080p video at 30 fps with a ~20Mbps rate is used. Our review unit's score on this test is 14 hours and 43 minutes. The discharging process follows the same pattern we observe from the browsing test a slow start for the first half an hour and a slightly quicker end for the last five minutes. The battery temperature starts at 30°C, reaches 35°C in half an hour, and very slowly increases throughout the whole process until it reaches 37°C after 11 hours. Then, it remains at this level until the end.
3D Graphics/Gaming (9 hours and 32 minutes)
YEBIS OpenGL ES 3.0 3D Tech Demo
For the 3D Graphics/Gaming test, the YEBIS OpenGL ES 3.0 3D Tech Demo is used. The result from this test is 9 hours and 32 minutes. Again, the discharging process is slow for the first 30 minutes but is steady from then on until the end. The battery temperature starts at 32°C, reaches 40°C in half an hour, and stays at this level until the end.

Infrared thermography
The above photos of the Doogee S61 Pro are taken with a FLIR thermal camera and clearly demonstrate that the device manages to control its temperature. The left photo shows the device's temperature during charging. The hottest area is the connector of the charging cable that enters the USB port with a temperature of 36.4°C. The device itself is the hottest right off the center of the upper half of the body with a temperature of 35.9°C. The second photo depicts the device's temperature during our 3D battery life test. In this case, the hottest part of the device with a temperature of 40.4°C is the same area that's to the immediate right of the center of the upper half of the body. With a temperature of 38.3°C the top left corner is the second hottest area.

Battery Settings

The Battery menu offers the same options as before but the design and layout are Android 12 ones. It begins with battery status info, followed by battery usage data. It has a usage graph and information about which app or physical part of the device has consumed the most power. After that, you get the Battery Saver. This is a simple toggle but you get the option to schedule it based on the battery percentage. There's another toggle to turn off the battery saver when the battery reaches above 90% of its charge. There's also the Battery Manager toggle which monitors for apps that drain the battery and sends warning notifications if such are detected. Finally, there's the battery percentage toggle, which is off by default.
