Rear cameras, photo and video samples

Ulefone Armor 27T Pro has a 50MP Samsung S5KGN1 main camera with a 1.12 μm pixel size, a 7-element lens, an f/1.95 aperture, and an 85° field of view. By default, the main camera outputs 12.5MP photos. You have to visit the 50MP shooting mode to snap photos with the sensor's original resolution. It can also record 2K QHD videos at 30 fps. Ulefone Armor 27 Pro, Ulefone Armor 25T, Ulefone Armor 25T Pro 5G, and the Ulefone Armor 23 Ultra use the same image sensor for their main cameras.

The second camera is a Night Vision one. It uses a 64MP OmniVision OV64B1B sensor and has an f/1.79 aperture, a 79.4° FoV, and dual IR lights. This unit arrives with the upgraded Ulefone NightElf Ultra 3.0 algorithm with lesser interference, turning darkness into clear, detailed images. We have reviewed several other rugged smartphones by Ulefone that use the same sensor for their Night Vision cameras. these include the Armor 27 Pro, Armor 25T, Armor 25T Pro 5G, Armor 26 Ultra, and the Ulefone Armor 23 Ultra.

Selfie camera

The front-facing camera of the Ulefone Armor 27T Pro uses a 32MP Samsung S5KGD1 sensor paired with a 5-element lens with an f/2.45 aperture and an 80.4° FoV. It can record FHD videos at 30 fps. We have reviewed several other smartphones by Ulefone that use the same sensor for their front cameras. These include the Armor 27 Pro, Armor 25T, Ulefone Note 18 Ultra, Armor 25T Pro 5G, and the Ulefone Power Armor 18T.

Thermal camera

Unlike the Armor 25T, the Armor 27T Pro uses a FLIR Lepton thermal camera. Thermal cameras detect the infrared light emitted by objects at temperatures above absolute zero (-273°C). This light is invisible to the naked eye and the thermal sensor combined with a regular image sensor interprets it in images that we can see. The FLIR thermal cameras use the MSK and VividIR image processing technologies to provide advanced thermal imagery. Thermal cameras have a wide application in homes, offices, and industrial sites for discovering leaks, blockages, draughts, electrical short, wildlife, pests, search and life-saving operations, etc. The FLIR Lepton thermal sensor on the Armor 27T Pro has a resolution of 80 x 60 px and a 17 μm pixel pitch. The spectral range of the sensor is from 8 μm to 14 μm with a sensitivity below 50 mk and a temperature range of -10°C to 450°C. The output resolution for photos and videos shot with the thermal camera is 1080 x 1440.

The Armor 27T Pro arrives with the MyFLIR Pro app pre-installed. It contains tools that put in your hands the latest technologies in thermal image processing, analytics, reports, and shooting options. Here are also several screenshots from the app:

Camera App

The Camera app on the Armor 27T Pro is the same as the one on the Armor 27 Pro. While it retains the style of offering additional options and settings visualized as overlays on the screen, it is re-designed compared to the usual one Ulefone uses on its Armor series. As usual, the shutter button, Google Lens, camera switch, and the shortcut to the list of photos and videos are positioned at the bottom of the screen. The reel with shooting modes is listed above those. There's a third row containing an icon shortcut to the beautification options and two zoom-level icons. 1x corresponds to the main camera and 2x is a simple zoom with the main camera. The top of the screen contains various options supported by the respective shooting mode. There's a small downward arrow that opens an overlay with the camera settings. "Photo" is the default shooting mode. When used with the main camera, it supports HDR, AI, LED flash, various filters, and beautification features. The ultra-wide unit supports only filters. "Video" is the second shooting mode. It supports only the LED flash and works with the main and ultra-wide camera with no zoom level available. The "Film" mode switches to shooting a video with a film aspect ratio. "Photo" is the default shooting mode
The "Night Vision" mode is to the far left of the reel. It switches to the Night Vision camera which supports several filters. In this case, instead of a camera switch, there's a button that switches to video recording with this particular camera. "50MP" is a shooting mode that lets you snap photos with the main camera in the sensor's original resolution. "More" is a tab that leads to more shooting modes including "Night mode", "Document Correction", "GroupPhoto", "AI Emoji", "Gif", "Portrait", "ProVideo", "Sports", "Dual-view Video", "Pro Mode", "Panorama", "Slow motion", "Time Lapse", "Intelligent Scanning". The "Portrait" mode uses the main camera with options for manual adjustment of the aperture level. The "Pro mode" allows you to adjust the white balance, ISO, exposure, shutter speed, and focus metering. The "Pro Video" mode allows the same but on videos that you shot. "Portrait" lets you adjust the aperture level to achieve a blurred background and apply several beautification filters by adjusting their degree.
As usual, Uefone provides you with the option to customize the Camera app. You can add/remove shooting modes in the reel and the "More" tab. You can also change the way they appear and how you can access them. Finally, there's a choice of app accent colors. The interface for the front camera is largely the same. You get all available modes and when the selfie camera does not support them, the device simply switches to the rear shooters. The front camera supports Photo, Video, and Portrait modes. Photo and video editing is done via the default Photos app with integrated Google Lens.
