Ulefone Note 16 Pro Review

Display

Ulefone Note 16 Pro has a 6.52-inch IPS display with an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. The Display Settings allows you to set the brightness level, use adaptive brightness, set a dark theme, night light, and turn on a backlight power saving mode. These are complemented by lock screen settings, display size and text options, colors and contrast settings, video display enhancement, and other standard settings. We have measured on our review unit a maximum brightness of 395.324 cd/m². It is ok for outdoor viewing with the auto brightness feature helping a bit in this regard. It works adequately in adjusting the screen brightness automatically according to the ambient light. Our usual measurements of the white and black luminance, static contrast ratio, and color temperature of the display are published below. As usual, for a more realistic result, we measure them twice - on a single frame that displays 50% white and 50% black and on two separate frames displaying a fully white and a fully black screen.

In this case, there isn't a big difference in the black and white luminance measured both ways. The white luminance measured on two separate frames is 395.324 nits and the white luminance measured on a single frame that shows 50% white and 50% black is 363.079 nits. The static contrast ratio from both types of measurement is not very different as well and is in the 1280:1 - 1480: range. The temperature of the white point is around 7900 K in all measurements.

Our brightness uniformity measurement shows that the display is dimmer at the bottom, brighter at the top, and brightest in the middle. The top one-third of the display has an average brightness of 376 cd/m². The middle one-third has an average brightness of 387 cd/m². The bottom one-third has an average brightness of 354 cd/m². The temperature of the white point is around 9000 K in all points of measurement. The CIE diagram demonstrates that the display has a non-exact 100% sRGB color space coverage. You will get puncher green, yellow, and orange hues, while the blue, cyan, magenta, and red hues will be duller. The display panel has a traditional vertical striped RGB subpixel arrangement.
