Performance

Unihertz Jelly Star is based on the MediaTek Helio G99 (MT6789) system-on-chip. Built on the 6nm process, it has quickly proven to be a reliable and quick enough chipset for mid-range smartphones. The Helio G99 combines a 2.2 octa-core CPU with a 1GHz dual-core Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. There are 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM clocked at 2133 MHz and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage onboard. The latter can be expanded via a microSD card. Of the 256GB total built-in memory, 241GB are available to the user. Other smartphones which we have reviewed and are based on the same Helio G99 chipset are Ulefone Power Armor 19T, Unihertz Luna, Ulefone Power Armor 19, Doogee S100, Unihertz Tank, and Ulefone Armor 17 Pro. Our Unihertz Jelly Star review unit scored 367,880 points on AnTuTu 9. This is 20,000 points less than the top result we've got from this chipset. On AnTuTu 10, the device scored more than 400,000 points. The single-core and multi-core Geekbench 5 results are on par with results from other smartphones with the Helio G99 chipset we've tested. The same applies to the Geekbench 6 results. Either way, these tests show that the Helio G99 is as good as the Snapdragon 730, Snapdragon 695, and Dimenisty 700 chipsets. The same is demonstrated by the PCMark Work 3.0 result.
