Battery Tests

The Ulefone Armor 12 is equipped with a 5180 mAh battery. The unit supports 18W fast wired charging and 15W wireless charging. Below we publish the results from our proprietary battery tests. All battery tests and performed with the screen of the device being calibrated to 200 cd/m² and with battery-saving features disabled. The battery of our review unit was charged in full for 2 hours and 46 minutes with the provided USB cable and USB Type-C charger. The charging process begins with a moderate pace, regaining 20% of the charge in 25 minutes. It speeds up a bit afterward and regains 60% in 45 minutes. 50% of its charge in 50 minutes. The charging speed slows down slightly after that and even more so after the battery regains 80% of its charge. It needs 1 hour to charge the last 20% to regain 100% of its charge. The battery temperature begins from 37°C, reaches its peak of 47°C in 50 minutes, and immediately starts to decline, measuring 28°C in the end. During our intensive browsing test, the battery of our review unit lasted for 17 hours and 43 minutes. The discharging process maintains a relatively steady pace until the very end when discharging speeds up a bit after the battery drops to 5% of its charge. The battery temperature starts at 26°C and increases to 32°C in 1 hour and a half. This level is maintained until the end. The video test for battery life uses a 1080p video at 30 fps with a ~20Mbps rate is used. Our review unit's score from this test is 19 hours and 36 minutes. The discharging process is steady from the start until the end when the discharging speeds up slightly. At that point, discharging slows down significantly. The battery temperature starts at 28°C, increases to 32 in 1 hour and 20 minutes, remains this level for 3 hours, decreases to 30°C, where it stays until the end. The 4K video battery life test uses a 2160p video at 30 fps with a ~55 Mbps rate. In this test, the battery of the Ulefone Armor 12 lasted for 7 hours and 11 minutes. The discharging pattern is unchanged. The battery temperature starts at 25°C, reaches 3°C in 1 hour, and remains at this level until the end. For the 3D Graphics/Gaming test, the YEBIS OpenGL ES 3.0 3D Tech Demo is used. The result from this test is 9 hours and 55 minutes. The discharging pattern starts at a moderate pace but speeds up a bit after the battery drops to 90% of its charge and even more so after 10% is reached. The battery temperature starts at 32°C and gradually increases to 37-38°C in 2 hours, remaining at this level until the end. During the last few minutes, the temperature increases to 39°C. The above photos of the Ulefone Armor 12 are taken with a FLIR thermal camera. The left photo shows the device's temperature during charging. The hottest area is the center of the upper half of the body with a temperature of 39.4°C. The second photo depicts the device's temperature during our 3D battery life test. In this case, the hottest part of the device with a temperature of 36°C is an area in the upper half of the body, just right off the center. The second hottest area with a temperature of 35.71°C is the center of the chin.

The Battery menu is a typical Android 11 one. The top of the screen contains data about the current battery capacity and status followed by the app status in the context of power consumption, Battery Saver, Battery Manager, Battery Percentage toggle. Some battery usage data is also available.
