Performance

Ulefone Armor 17 Pro is based on a MediaTek Helio G99 (MT6789) chipset. Manufactured using TSMC's 6 nm process technology, this SoC was introduced in 2022. One of its advantages over older production nodes is the increased power efficiency. It also supports big displays with high resolutions, fast refresh rates, and big camera sensors. The chipset offers an octa-core CPU with two Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.2 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz. An ARM Mali-G57 MC2 GPU with two cores clocked up to 1000MHz handles the graphics department. There are 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM clocked at 2133 MHz and 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage onboard. There's an option to virtually expand the RAM from the MemFusion feature found under the "Intelligent Assistance" menu in the settings. Of those 256GB, 237GB are available to the user. The built-in storage can be expanded via a dedicated microSD card slot. Our review unit scored 366,644 points on AnTuTu 9. This result is close to the result of smartphones we've tested based on the Samsung Exynos 9 9810, Dimensity 800/810/820/920, Snapdragon 730G, and Snapdragon 690 5G chipsets. The same applies to the single-core result from the Geekbench 5 test, which also aligns the Dimensity 700 chipset here. This is further confirmed by the multi-core Geekbench 5 result. The 3DMark Sling Shot and Sling Shot Extreme OpenGL results solidify this observation.
