OS, UI and software

Ulefone Tab A11 Pro runs on stock Android 14 with all the typical features of the new OS. The user interface remains unchanged and even lacks Ulefone's overlay. A huge Clock widget appears in the center of the Lock Screen and the Home Screen sports the usual elements - a Google search bar on the top with voice search and Google Lens, favorite and docked apps at the bottom, a Clock/Date widget in the middle. Google Discover and desktop shortcuts are supported. A swipe up from the Home Screen opens the app drawer. It lists the applications in alphabetic order below an app search bar. The Customization Picker lists the usual Widgets, Wallpaper & Style options, and a limited set of Home settings. The Task Manager is in its simplest option with the Clear All button appearing at the very left end of app previews. The Notifications shade and the Quick Settings appear after a single and a double swipe from the top of the screen and are in their stock design and layout.
Ulefone Tab A11 Pro arrives with the bare minimum of applications including Assistant, Calculator, Calendar, Camera, Chrome, Clock, Contacts, Drive, Files, Find Device, Gmail, Google, Keep Notes, Kids Space, Maps, Meet, Messages, Phone, Photos, Play Books, Play Store, Safety, Service Center, Settings, Sound Recorder, YouTube, YT Kids, and YT Music.
The Settings app has a traditional layout that's adjusted to be used on tablets - hence, there's always a sidebar with the main menus, while the right part of the screen sees them unfold. The set is quite typical and begins with the two traditional menus related to connectivity - "Network & Internet" and "Connected devices". Screenshots from those options can be seen in the next page of this review which is dedicated to connectivity. The list continues with the "Apps" settings that let you manage various aspects of the applications on your device. It is followed by the "Notifications" menu - one of the app aspects that offers a lot of customization options. "Battery" and "Storage" are the fifth and sixth menus. More on the battery one in the respective sections of this review. "Sound" comes next with the traditional volume level bars, DND mode, Live Caption settings, a choice of ringtones, vibration and haptics, notification sounds, and others. The "Display" menu is eighth and has all the usual settings for this hardware part. The "Wallpaper" menu follows with a choice of Live Wallpapers, a shortcut to the Photos app for a selection of images, pre-set wallpapers, and styles. The "Accessibility" options contain settings for the screen reader, display settings for the visually impaired, interaction controls, captions with live caption (again), audio settings for the hearing impaired, and accessibility shortcuts. The "Security & Privacy" menu is typical for Android 14 mobile devices combining the security options with the privacy ones. As usual, the various sub-options are renamed despite providing the same functionality.
"Location" is next followed by "Special function". This menu contains two toggles - one for the "Flipt to silent" feature and the other one is for the "Alarm clock flipped to mute" feature. The "Safety & Emergency" menu follows with options to enter medical information, emergency contacts, emergency SOS, crisis alerts, earthquake alerts, wireless emergency alerts, and emergency location service. "Memory Expansion" comes next, followed by the "Passwords & accounts" menu, the "Digital Wellbeing & Parental controls", "Google", "DuraSpeeed", and "Schedule power on& off". We will not describe them all as they've been existing on Android devices for years. Then there's the "System" menu with the usual update options, backup and reset, date and time, languages settings and keyboard options, which on Android 14 are split, multiple users settings, and gestures. The gestures options contain the system navigation options - on-screen gestures or virtual navigation bar, the "Quickly open camera" feature, "One-handed mode", "Press & hold power button", and the "Threefinger ScreenShot" feature. Finally, there's the "About tablet" menu that contains the usual data about the model name, main specifications, software versions, IMEI numbers, etc.
