Cat S48c goes official, launches in the US via Sprint

Cat Phones are known for their focus on ruggedness and durability. The latest addition to the Cat brand is the Cat S48c which will be available in the US from tomorrow (November 9th) via Sprint. It will cost $20 per month with Sprint Flex Lease (SRP: $480 plus tax). It is created for individuals who work in demanding environments and great outdoors enthusiasts that regularly expose their smartphones to stressful conditions. The handset is equipped with a 5-inch FHD display protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass and features a Snapdragon 630 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage that can be expanded with up to 128GB. Power is supplied by a 4000 mAh battery and the camera department includes a 5MP selfie snapper plus a 13MP rear shooter suitable for underwater photography. With an IP68 rating, Cat S48c is completely waterproof (up to 4 ft in water for up to 35 minutes), dustproof and resistant to drops, shocks, vibrations, extreme temperatures. It covers the MIL-STD-810G military standard and can be used in Class I, Division 2, Group A-D, T4 hazardous locations (areas where flammable gas or flammable vapour from liquids may be present). Cat S48c has a dedicated, programmable PTT key located on the side of the phone that pairs perfectly with Sprint Direct Connect Plus which offers nationwide coverage with one-to-one, group and broadcast calls for push-to-talk communications.
