This year's iPhones will get a faster chipset, more advanced cameras

This year's iPhones will get a faster chipset, more advanced camerasMark Gurman and Debby Wu of Bloomberg unveil some details about the upcoming iPhone 11 series of smartphones which are due to be announced next month. Based on information from sources from Apple's supply chain, there will be three devices this year, which will go on sale in the same month - September. However, in an effort to compensate interest during the winter holidays season, Apple plans on introducing "new hardware, software and services to drive revenue higher." According to the sources, Apple also preps refreshed versions of the iPad Pro with upgraded cameras and faster chips, an entry-level iPad with a larger screen, new versions of the Apple Watch, and the first revamp to the MacBook Pro laptop in three years.

The iPhone Pro models will have a third rear camera - a first for an iPhone. This will be an ultra-wide angle shooter. The three rear cameras will shoot simultaneously and the AI software will make one final photo of all three images to ensure perfect end result. Higher resolution photos and improved low-light shooting are expected as well. The higher-end iPhones will have an advanced video editor which will allow users to edit a video while it is still recorded on the device in real time.

The display sizes will remain unchanged - 5.8 and 6.5 inches. AN improved Face ID feature is expected with a wider FoV so it will work in almost any position of the smartphone with the screen up. Apple will add a reverse wireless charging capability for the iPhone Pro models so you can charge your Airpods for example. The devices will have glass backs that are more resistant to breaking and will have a matte finish. The dust and water resistance should be improved as well.

Under the hood with the Apple A13 is a new, even stronger ARM processor, which is supposed to process mathematically demanding tasks faster with a new component called AMX or "Matrix". Apple wants to relieve the actual CPU and achieve higher performance in areas such as AI and computer vision. According to Gurman, 5G support and 3D cameras on the back will not be available until next year.

The cheapest iPhone model for this year will also remain unchanged in size but will get the faster processor and a second camera on the back for optical zoom. The official presentation of the new iPhones is expected in early September.
